It's not designed to burn you out, it's designed to keep you addicted to the grind and playing long enough to get to the next content drop in the hope you'll spend more money.

No, tons of people are addicted to grinding. It's why MMOs are so popular to begin with. It's why there are so many mobile games that are nothing but grind (with paid methods of reducing the grind, because whales like to do that and it finds the game). You can dislike it all you want, but developers and publishers make games like this because they ultimately make money.

People are addicted to loot, achievements or anything that test their skill or makes it fun, to each their own. Only devs like Bungie think people are addicted to grinding. People get paid for a job and not pay for it.
