It seems like the only cheater issue with the game right now is people using DDOS to win trials of the nine ( and people using aim assist on PC with KBM).
This can be simply fixed by having dedicated servers, this would also somewhat solve getting shot behind walls so much and lagswitching giving you an advantage.

I am sorry to break it to ya but the choice Bungie went with is actually the overall best possible for a game such as this. If they went and blew out their brain just to follow your "suggestion" the game would be a mess... If they had dedicated servers you would be far more likely to be influenced by DDOS than the current and the fact you claim this points out how little you know in regards to hosting... Let me break it to ya kiddo... you cannot truly protect against DDOS and that is a well known fact... all you can do is limit the effect of it depending on the scale.
