Class Based Events
I’d love to have some events in Destiny 2 specifically opened only to specific classes:
Milestones:
City Defense: Titans are called to defend the City from invasion. (A horde mode like event where a unique specific enemy type sends waves of enemies into the city to attack, Titans arrive to fight back the waves, including some zone-holding objectives, and ends with a random boss.) {Could use the cityscape interior from the last level.} [6-9 Players]
Frontier Expansion: Hunters are charged with roaming the frontier and seeking critical data from enemies. (This event would involve sending teams of Hunters to perform several objectives, such as infiltrating an enemy stronghold using stealth and long-range tactics to avoid setting off alarms, sabotage weapons, and acquiring intel from VIP targets who will attempt to escape.) {Could use any PVP map from Destiny 1 or 2, or new fortresses.} [1-9 players; Fireteam Suggested]
Research Excursion: Warlocks must band together to investigate and resolve an unusual circumstance being tracked by the Vanguard. Research materials must be gathered and analyzed, strange and powerful new threats must be eliminated, and new enemy realms explored. (This event would involve Warlocks setting up a research outpost and venturing out to gather materials from highly protected zones with anomalous enemies, then returning with these materials to decipher clues or create a counter-agent in order to defeat a unique Heroic Event.) {Public Event Zone set in a Strike Map} [3-9 players]

If they did this I might actually play Titan more, because I've always enjoyed hoard mode type games (as long as they're done well).

I love the idea I’ve always w ayes to be able to play something like the battle of six fronts / twilight gap Bungie seriously needs to see this

Hive: Rituals, hierarchy, spells Vex: Teleportation, past/future, world restoration/change Cabal: Imperial hierarchy, (Cabal made up of different races) so learning about their races and their weaknesses Fallen: Learn about their Houses, and more about their ties with the Awoken/Origin Taken: Why are they still here? What is their purpose, who is leading them?

This game has trouble having game events as a whole and you want class based events? Sorry guardian but that is way too complicated. Maybe possible in Destiny 2, tho. Please wait 10 years.

1 ReplyI read through this and lots of folks seem to dislike pitting classes against one another. I don’t mind it but something like the following might work: Some kind of horde mode which anyone can play with their friends of any class (or a group of randoms). Bungie sets the horde going and each kill counts as one point for the class that makes the kill.

Why not have every planet get a massive planet wide event with all three as objectives to trigger the heroic version that will spawn a massive boss with unlimited adds and requires the help of everyone to complete with a guaranteed exotic drop when completed within time? I just like your ideas and the idea of a massive public event that works similar to a raid.

[/b] [u]I like your ideas around the events themselves.[/u] I am all about seeing those suggestions becoming a reality, but the events should be available to all guardians and not specific classes. They could still each refer to a "preferred" class or something. Just not full-blown segregation. Keep in mind, not everyone plays all three classes. Some people prefer to only play a single class or two of the three classes. Some people are just hunters... some are just titans... some are just nerds (whoops), I mean warlocks (LOL... I was a D1 Warlock main. In D2, I don't have a "main"). If I were Bungie, I would really limit the use of class-specific activities to the absolute minimum required (i.e. subclasses unlocking missions, class-specific exotic questions, etc.)

2 RepliesIt's one of the best ideas that I have read so far!! It would also give the much needed separation element to the classes except the more obvious subclasses! But I don't want to be salty at bungie they delivered us a beautiful game... But this idea needs a lot of development time and money and I think that bungie already is making lots of money as it is I don't think that they have the will to do this even though it's a great idea!! But maybe we are in for a surprise

This would be amazing! Great idea. As a Titan main I'd love a defend the city horde mode. This would also be a great way to add more lore into the game. This would also give you a greater incentive to run all three classes.
