Why aren't you upgrading all year 1 exotics to the new attack value??? Is it out of laziness or are you just being plain stupid, bungie
First of all, the majority of exotics not being upgraded are very desirable (or will be when the taken king comes out).
For example the gjallarhorn - some people have played over a thousand hours and still didn't get this weapon until our sold it recently. On top of this, it will be obselete in TTK content thus making it essentially useless - and just to rub salt in the wounds it is being patched to be less desirable in current year 1 content. I wouldn't say that bungie as a company are being very loyal to those who only recently got the gjallarhorn.
Another example is the vex mythoclast. Originally this weapon was god like - fair enough that it was patched. But nevertheless, this gun is a fan favourite and deserves to be upgraded.
The hard light has had a year of rejection and yet another one too in because in the TTK content it will be useless as well... yay
Ok, this is where I am very, very, very frustrated with you, bungie. After about a half a year of Necrochasm being useless, you decide that it needs a buff. Ok. A year. This weapon requires a seemingly endless amount of effort to obtain i.e. getting the husk of the pit, killing 500 hive with it, obtaining the embalming orb to upgrade it to the legendary rarity of eidolon ally (requiring eris morn rank 3 which you can only get to in consequence to grinding bounties every day and doing the storyline) and finally, getting the crux of crota. Bungie. Bungie. Bungie. After all of that a 5% RNG drop rate? Really? And after all of those steps you can finally get a really bad weapon...great, now I really feel like I am using my time in this game efficiently. In other words, it was a good idea to buff it, but maybe a bit sooner next time. Oh but at least now in the taken king it will get to the new attack value along with the buff... Or not. ARE YOU SERIOUS, BUNGIE?!?!?!?!?!?! YET ANOTHER HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME WHERE IT IS USELESS. NOW THERE IS NO INCENTIVE TO GO TO PREVIOUS RAIDS!!!!!!! "Oh but it will be good in most crucible game types" BUT NOT IRON BANNER OR TRIALS OF OSIRIS, THE TWO MOST POPULAR GAME MODES. This is a joke.

I agree that we should strive to get the new gear with better stats, the biggest reason why I do want the old gear to be upgraded is because of the looks. In my opinion the new guns look stupid and fictional, not like guns. Also the feel of the gun its self is why I want to keep using my old ones. Bungie should make a feature that allows you to copy the look of any gun or armor peice onto another one for a price and it would destroy the old one

It's not laziness or stupidity, Loot is the main form of progression and drive for this game. If you can use all your favorite year one weapons in year two, why would you use the new ones? That's why a lot of people left after house of wolves dropped.

Why does everybody want to drag old weapons/armour over to year 2??... Year 1 items should be kept for year 1 play. Year 2 items will be earned as you play like a brand new game. Every1 should start a fresh keeping there characters earning the new year items. Fair equal gameplay with no advantages.

4 RepliesReally, did you pay no attention the what bungie revealed? The light level is what adds to attack and defence, hence why all exotics from year 1 are being set to 160 (or close to that from what I remember.) But the higher your light level, the higher your attack, therefore, those who claimed their first Gally and even those who have had it for months, they'll still be able to use it, it won't be [i]as[/i] effective as a year 2 exotic but will still back one hell of a punch. Basically all I'm saying is chill out, and realise they are adding a hell of alot of new content in TTK, therefore, there will be plenty of new items that will be the year two versions of weapons like Thorn and Gally, and all those other weapons everyone freaks out about on here. So just remember, the higher the light level, the higher the attack and defence stats of your guardian.

I agree,i been grinding since day 1 jus to get stuff thats about to be useless?i like the y1 weapons and i should be able to upgrade them,i dont feel like im v.i.p,feel like bungie f n over me

It's pretty simple, if you want a year one weapon to do more damage in the next update you should go out and earn a higher level one

1 ReplyI only just got the gjallarhorn and honestly I don't really care about the nerf the weapon will still be powerful and still be good, I'm glad that stuff is getting nerfed, I got so tired of players saying "oh you don’t have that weapon, sorry you cant join" that’s just sad and shallow, and if you think about it, it makes sense that the weapons in year 2 will be far better than year 1 because of all the new developments, I mean you didn’t do the patrols for nothing each time collecting info and materials, but seriously with stuff being nerfed or buffed is it really making such an impact on your life?

2 RepliesNope Iron "Cheater" Banner and ToO is not the most popular modes :) PvP generally is not that popular in destiny thats why they created ToO too bring more PvE Players too that PvP Cheaters. I like the gally nerf it comes too late. Nobody knows what weapons all coming in a y2 edition, they said only on gally definatly stay at y1 edition. And the Reason why the weapons is not upgradable is clear, why to buy a dlc if you have the best weapons? If you want the better weapons buy the dlc or you suck.
