This is my inbox for nearly 3 weeks since I last cleaned it out (No friends on that list who asked me for help with VoG etc), Especially when you're level 30 you tend to get a few more because people look for your level for raids in tower etc.
But really, 2 months ago this has gotten so annoying considering you can't stop random people messaging on a 360 / have to turn off all notifications (So you can't tell when a friend sends invite or logs in etc).
We don't have matchmaking for the sake of meeting new people / making bonds etc etc. But really if you only do the raid once a week for rewards, chances are a lot of people don't want to do it again. I'm not the only one constantly spammed regardless of whatever activity i'm doing but also a lot of these messages come from under level 26 who want to try the raid and people who haven't done it before and go all macho-alpha-male-wannabe-whoknowsitall.
Please bring out matchmaking for people who have completed the raid at least 1-3+ times as by then you would generally know what you are doing, and saving us all from spam.
I just want to play the game and with friends. My email accounts/social media is filled without enough spam as is.
Matchmaking isn't compulsory, and you can have a voting system if someone is being disruptive/the other people doing the raid are bound to have been made friends with some of them

Raid matchmaking is easily the worst idea these forums have ever come up with. So glad bungie isnt going to implement it.
-
Please no the amount of afk people and not being able to communicate is horrible and there will definitely be that one guy who joins on the last space while you'll be waiting for your friend to connect back, there needs to be at least an option to find other people or not
-
always i visit the tower is a sentence of bunch of message for invite, always there are people waiting for the next guardian get into the tower to send the message, i'm tired for this.
-
I agree for normal at least
-
God, no.
-
Please no
-
People still own 360's?
-
Yep... It's really annoying trying to find people for nightfall/weekly strikes... waste time msging people, or sending out invites that get ignored. mostly cause everyone already done it, or isn't high enough level etc.. could easily be avoided with matchmaking enabled.. but then again, when has bungie ever used logic? Strikes were designed for teams, that's why the normal version has matchmaking without a choice. Want to solo it? too -blam!-ing bad, even if you get 2 friends to join, and then leave when you start... it will eventually put others into it... Yet, they then at the same time add a weekly version, make it much hard, and removed matchmaking for a strike that was designed with 3 people in mind.. Meanwhile, remember that update where they intentionally made strikes harder if you're solo? Stupid Bungie.

I never have any issue getting raid or nightfall groups. Never have any issues finishing them either. And no raid matchmaking is a terrible idea.

Edited by Ne0nK0ala: 3/8/2015 10:16:10 PMNightfalls should probably have matchmaking, but required to the min lvl of the nightfall. But for raids that is a no go, I believe you have to choose a team based on your requirements, matchmaking means that you could get paired with a random group that doesn't have the weapons and are not the right group, imagine a team of warlocks at Crota with shit blue rocket launchers, that shit would take years. And they are the only people who matchmake, everyone who is actually good will use the current methods to make sure they're not paired with noobs, having the option to boot is essential for a quick raid completion sometimes.

Edited by Apweber42: 3/8/2015 10:47:45 PMNo. -blam!- that. Not filling my team without being able to boot people. Had far too many problems with trolls. Afkers and assholes as it is. Edit: after thinking, as long as the person with the most people in their party gets leader over match made people it would be okay.

I agree^

Or
1. Go on lfg since you have no friends 2. Yep playing with no mic trolling randoms is super fun...
-
Try out lfg.planetdestiny.com. They just put up a system where, after you put your guardian type and what activity you want to do, you get automatically matched up with other players who want to do the same thing. It is exactly like match making. If it gets popular enough, we won't need Bungie's Recruitment section.
-
Raids? I can deal with no matchmaking. Nightfalls? I just need backups so add mm to that as well
-
Sorry but no, just no. I don't want to spend 6 hours completing vog. And I don't want scrubs dying on crotas end spawning endless waves of oversouls.
-
I still think matchmaking for raids is a bad idea. Maybe if they allowed you to set certain criteria like light level or whether or not a player has maxed weapons.
-
It would work if they had search/matchmaking parameters. That way you could have some leeway as to who you are being matched with. Picking up randoms from forums or lfg sites isnt much better than having matchmaking. How do you know that the level 32 you are picking up isnt going to have a screaming kid or that he or she isnt a total idiot.
-
-
Raid matchmaking? Only if party leader had ability to kick and or reserve spots. I just see the bad in randoms, like afk guy getting teleported during atheon fight or scrub grabbing sword and is just swinging it like an idiot.
-
This is what I don't get, people moaning that it won't work etc. You don't have to use it you can just do the method your doing now, and the people who want to run the risk with match making can, that way everyone's happy?
-
MatchMaking on the raid? No thanks! Imagine getting put with someone who has just unlocked it, no experience, no mic. Now imagine there were 2 of these people you got matched with, one of them has a screaming kid in the background and keeps going AFK to tend to said child. Wouldn't that be fun?
-
Nah, I feel that those tasks are too difficult to do with randoms. I could see the person going into the raid, finding it wayyyyy too difficult to do, then leaving the rest stranded to look for a replacement. Same goes for nightfall and weekly.
-
Weekly and nightfall are certainly a must , these are simply regular strikes with modifiers , why they're not in matchmaking beggars belief . I regularly miss out on doing these because i have little to no luck finding a group through the forum . My son who also plays has done a nightfall once because of the lack of matchmaking .
-
its impossible to get a in a fireteam in a forum full of closed minded elitest raid runners. "Only 31s with max gallys and experience plz" too many players are searching for this overly high criteria for a raid group. If every player can't at least ATTEMPT the raid then they will never have experience. Paradox.[ matchmaking would be so great, eliminating the above issue.

GIVE THEM AN LFG SYSTEM TO AT LEAST IN THE TOWER. There is no problem with that at all, so do not cry against it. Millions of people can't even raid because they have NOBODY or 0 KNOWLEDGE about websites, and no, they aren't going to instantly google stuff, they are lost. Destiny has a registered 9.5+ million users, and a little more over the Holidays are registering. Now, out of that 9.5 million, an almost 500,000 (this was in late October so this has slightly increased) have completed the VOG, which is barely over 5%. (5.2%) NOW, if you wanted to take the ACTIVE users who play every single day, then 3.2+ million players is your number. Out of those numbers - (OCTOBER) "1,970,807 players have attempted the Raid on Normal 472,082 players have defeated the Raid on Normal 202,729 players have attempted the Raid on Hard 36,181 players have defeated the Raid on Hard" Out of the 36k+ to finish it on hard, that'd be a depressing 1% out of the 3.2 million daily players, that have actually finished the raid. KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS WAS IN OCTOBER, SO THE PERCENTAGES HAVE SLIGHTLY INCREASED, A TINY BIT. NOW, WITH A BRAND NEW RAID OUT, IMAGINE HOW THESE NUMBERS ARE GOING TO DECREASE. I have no problem with an lfg in game system or matchmaking, for those of you that are against it, just use lfg.net or the forums and keep it moving :)
