I've played Destiny for a month even though I knew from day one that this was just more DLC driven game industry bunk.
Why?
Because the gameplay is frickin awesome. The fluid movement of the gunplay and the subtle ways in which upgrades change your play style and movement are awesome. This is not a bland call of duty type shooter. This has potential.
That potential is wasted on Bungie.
I love(d) Bungie, but it's clear now that they are in bed with a greedy anti consumer behemoth in Activision, (if they haven't completely gone over to the dark side themselves) and that Destiny is a lost cause.
The best this game could ever be now is a tech demo. A blueprint for a future video game made by a different company with better values and a better dedication to the player. A company that wants to make a great game that people will enjoy, and be engaged in by story and extensive multiplayer gameplay, more than a gimmicky endless grind. Bungie, thank you for showing someone else what could be done with movement and gun upgrades in FPS shooters with your wonderful full price Beta!
The gamers of the future thank you with all of their hearts

Gotta admit it was a bit disappointing that all of earth was included in the beta :/

See you in the DLC. Lol

Im on the fence about this... I'm really hoping they aren't just feeding us lies because i love halo and all the rest of their products for being so well made and full of life, this game has no real story. it bothers the hell out of me how i can't walk up to the characters in the tower and ask about shit like this huge war that supposedly happened and why i might have been dead and things of that nature add more flavor to the game. Why is this "God-like" sphere in the sky not being bombed its so damn exposed and why the tits do i finish these missions and all these things the ghost says will happen if i finish the mission never really happen? Will we be able to actually see the traveler come to life little by little and put the pieces of this whole freaking story together? Give us some hope bungie... give us more than just events that are simply repeating history..... Tell us what you guys might be considering and planning on adding.... it's disheartening to see how much is wrong and how much more the lesser things are being worked on.... i mean i guess we can start from small and work our way up, but geez cater to the fans.... or there wont be any... just my opinion...

Im just thinking back at all those comments about how the full game will be nothing like the beta.....no sir you are actually playing the full game.
-
Bethesda would have made this game that it was suppose to be. Bungi and Bethesda maybe lol don't think that would happen. "Hey Bethesda Bungi needs a little help"

Edited by BrokenLance: 10/1/2014 3:59:33 PMI saw a guy with 7 days played. that's 168 hours sitting in front of the TV playing. not bad for a "beta" side note, he ranted about how the game was sucked etc etc - i've noticed a lot of people talk badly about Destiny, how it deserves a poor rating but then you look at how many hours they put into the game and it tells a very different tale... and those hours don't stay the same either. they keep going up. meaning they keep playing. *shakes head* and they wonder why Bungie doesn't take their demands seriously.

I'm so sick of these Americans crying over $60. The rest of the world who pays almost double that for games doesn't care.
-
Was only 60 bucks. If that is an investment, You need to stop playing and get another job. And befor eyou do the bitchmoan I've got 3 jobs and go to class's full time
-
Did you buy map packs for cod or battle field? Titanfall? If so... Just delete this post

Reminds me of diablo 3 when it first came out. We had to play while they made the game. I mean its a relatively new consept that a lot of steam games are doing. Kinda interesting. I have more faith in bungies then i would with these small deves.

Bit dramatic

Edited by kailin99: 9/30/2014 7:33:37 PMBuddy its not just Bungie I think it's just gaming in general now. I've actually gotten to the point lately that I may stop being a gamer *gasp*. Its just that it seems like every game is just all false promises, unfinished, a dlc/microtransaction scheme, or Cashing in on franchise name recognition. And everything sacrifices content to shoe horn in some form of multiplayer that is only fun until the community figures out how to exploit the game. Even the consoles themselves (both ps4 and Xbox one) are deceitful in there features and how they handle there medium. It really just seems like gaming has gone to hell in the last few years. Deceptive practices, cash grabbing, toxic communities... As someone who has owned about every system since the SNES/Genesis era its very sad to see the industry continuing in this direction.

They want to make money out of it for as long as possible so are forcing Bungie to hold on to content till they see fit to release it at various times when the will be very little to compete with. I bet Bungie have got a whole lot of great stuff already developed for it but Activision have put a choke hold on what comes out and when. Worst thing Bungie ever did was partner themselves with Activision. Alongside EA, they are only interested in making money and to hell with the gamers. Put simply, Bungie's vision has been been neutered by Activision who only see dollar signs and nothing else.

Actually I paid 36 for both expansions so yeah I'm pretty happy

Thanks for going to grade school and learning about apostrophes
-
Oh look another one of these threads...
-
This is exactly how I feel
-
Completely agree with you. I'd rather buy a finished product then fix it for them. It's starting to become an industry standard and I think we're all f_d.
-
Was only 60 bucks get over it
-
It's not even out a month and they haven't charged anything yet for any updates/events so far.

Edited by Adenomatous: 9/29/2014 5:31:00 PMYou must be new to online gaming release month. When new games are released that require online there is usually tons of kinks to fix that there beta didn't catch and that they over looked how the mass of people would feel. I would just suggest not playing for awhile and come back later. I would suggest you do this for any game that is online. First month or two people bitch and cry just like you're doing.

This game was well worth the $60. I've bought some really shitty games at launch, That I wish I never did. That's why I have Gamefly. But I have to say I've gotten my moneys worth out of Destiny. This game has its flaws, What game doesn't. Bungie just needs to work them out.
-
Haha seriously this
-
Tears Collected: 000015 P.S - I contemplated taking 2 tears from you because the game hasn't been out for a month yet, but I decided to be nice and only take one. Be Grateful.
-
Dont blame Bungie, blame Activision. Its their money hungry asses that are making the game bad

Whine more
