I saw a guy with 7 days played. that's 168 hours sitting in front of the TV playing. not bad for a "beta" side note, he ranted about how the game was sucked etc etc - i've noticed a lot of people talk badly about Destiny, how it deserves a poor rating but then you look at how many hours they put into the game and it tells a very different tale... and those hours don't stay the same either. they keep going up. meaning they keep playing. *shakes head* and they wonder why Bungie doesn't take their demands seriously.

  • Those hours are probably spent doing nothing but playing with other friends that have been duped into buying this husk of a game, or killing random people in Crucible. The only thing this game has to offer, is shooting things with friends, or shooting other players. Have you realized how many things need patches already? And this is after a pretty extensive beta test period. Not to mention, didn't they have their own testers? So many little problems it's ridiculous. Then there's the story... where is it? This game is fun to play, with friends, and crap, but there's nothing else holding it's player base here, new games are on their way, much of which offer pretty damned nice multiplayer aspects. Bungie thinks this game is going to ready the path for a 10 year franchise? I don't think so. Samey missions, samey events, and probably bland DLC with as little story content as the actual game offered. This game is great to play for a couple weeks, or even more, so long as you have friends to play with that can stand the bland concepts this game has to offer, but once you start to realize all this, and your friends start getting bored of it, this game has nothing left to offer.

  • That's what it is for us. The only reason we keep playing is that there isn't any other good coop game out yet. Yet. Our daily discussion is usually about which upcoming game we are all willing to buy and play together.

  • oh look another one. Must feel pretty bad to have spent 91 hours morning noon and night sitting around playing this 'husk of a game.' I hope your next game gives you as much or more entertainment.

Obviously I reflect the previous repliers sentiment. I do enjoy playing the higher difficulty missions with friends. But even that too wears thin. At this point we beat the raid and the nightfall on Tuesday night, then what? Wait a week. As I said in the OP, the mechanics of this game are better then solid. Shooting shit is fun. Movement is fluid. The graphics are great. There isn't enough to do. Without having gone online and digging through a confusing clan system I would have never found enough people to play this game with. All these multiplayer aspects worked in games like WoW because the interfaces and mechanics for meeting and grouping with players were built into the structure of the game. This feels like a mess. You can't tell me it can't be done. It's been done and they are reportedly patching it. Releasing the Game in this state was a travesty and an insult to a consumer base that they know is populated with enough 10 year old brats with Christmas lists that they could still make a killing.

You apparently didn't understand what I said. This game offers a solid multiplayer experience, this has nothing to do with actual game content... The only reason this game is interesting and fun is because it can be done with friends. The actual game, without multiplayer, would be, and is, very repetitive and boring, and offers very little replayability. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, many other games, that have no multiplayer aside from ME3, have given me MANY many mannnny hours of gameplay more than this has. And games that have multiplayer AND an amazing story? Those have been happily in my game library for years, and I still go back to them. Multiplayer is the only thing this game has to offer, and it forces you to replay samey bland missions, to get better gear, that is the only reason anyone has played this game past the end mission, which I had beaten on my third day of playing the game. Again, the only thing keeping me on it? Friends, who also feel this game duped them. We play, we make fun of the stupid samey mission concept, we laugh at how terrible the story is, we actively express disgust over the game we're in, yet like Bungie must have guessed, we can have fun in it, while disliking it. Multiplayer, is all, this game, has to offer, and it does it well enough, to keep people playing it. Like I said though, it won't take long for better games, in general, to swoop in and then there goes a large portion of the player base. I can tell you right now, this game, is not how you introduce a new IP, there is no story or immersion for me to care about, no characters I find interesting, the missions are all the same, and it's just a grind/farm fest now. This game will not last 10 years.
