Destiny has around 2.6Million pre-orders. Gaining about 100k weekly. The 100k will most likely jump to around 500k for the last week of pre-ordering. So figure around 4million sales day 1. This game will be on the list of best selling games day one. Your cancelled pre-order means nothing. You will account for a 0.000025% drop in sales. No one cares.

You must care if it inspired you to make this pointless topic

This thread totally made me cancel my preorder.
-
Lol it is a bit annoying when people announce it. They could just move on, but no, they have to discuss why they canceled
-
Sounds like someone didn't cancel their preorder.
-
don't feed the trolls...
-
Well I've pre ordered and I haven't pre ordered a game since GTA V. I haven't even played the beta, got a PS4 just after it ended so I'm going in fresh, here's hoping I made the right decision. (I'm sure I did =])
-
NEVER preordered a game before. Ever. Destiny was my first :))
-
Just because of you... i went and cancelled my pre order
-
It seems to be in a good spot. Maybe it will even beat GTAV in pre orders.
-
Maybe 1% of those who claimed they cancelled their preorder actually cancelled their preorder. Most are just making up shit to get under people's skin. That's why there's a mute button.
-
I cancelled my preorder
to upgrade from the standard edition to the collector's.
-
Good post. I'd like to add: I report/hide all threads that are posted "I canceled my preorder blah blah" joking or not, it's annoying.
-
I did cancel my £45 preorder from game and replace it with psn £85 digital guardian Edition. Haha just to play midnight
-
Just curious, where did you get these numbers??
-
Considering bungie just re-tweeted that the timed exclusive content is now only available on the ps, I'm considering at the very least not picking up the DLC. Hopefully the tweet was just a marketing typo.
-
But I DID cancel my preorder! (That I made in October 2013 before there were any special editions - I got a little too excited) And replaced it with a digital guardian edition. "Oooo! A different color skin for my ghost. Hooray!"
-
So they are going to sell "Half" of their projected sales for the next year on day one?
-
A majority of the cancelled pre-order claims are trolling anyway.
-
How could it possibly be that many when there aren't even 4 million people in the US
-
You made a thread about it. You care.

Edited by Der_Peevmeister: 9/2/2014 9:33:21 PMI'm sick of people griping about people canceling their pre-orders... I'm canceling my pre-order.
-
i dont think they care about what their pre order will do to sales numbers...most ppl dont..only fanboys. anyway, they probably just didnt like it..chill buddy. its gonna be okay. some ppl wont like destiny. its gonna be okay.
-
I canceled my preorder
... for 360, and picked up the PS4 bundle!
I think you aren't perceptive enough to understand what canceling a preorder means to some of those "morons." Some of these folks will play Destiny eventually, they just aren't going to plunge in $60 bucks feet first. They may gamefly the game, play it at a friend's house, read the reviews and watch the board comments. Some of them may wait till one or both DLC'S drop and the servers stabilize. Some of them are primarily PVE players who may want to see just how grindy the game is and how fast you can do it all. Voting with your wallet and canceling a preorder is not a once and forever Destiny be damned decision. And whether or not it makes a difference to Bungie is a moronic statement. Of course a sure purchase moving to noncommittal or no purchase is important to Bungie. Whether or not it is a statistically significant number remains to be seen. I don't fault people for thinking twice about where to put their entertainment budget; sometimes I take a flier and sometimes I wait. I'm in the same boat with shadow of mordor-- do I wait or preorder?

Edited by o0 DaGnOmE 0o: 9/2/2014 10:15:24 PMKnow what really grinds my gears? People who complain about people who complain who then cancel their pre order only to pre order another edition who then complain about those complaining about those canceling their pre orders who were only selling their pre orders to people who were originally complaining about those who complained about canceling their pre orders.
