So, volume 1 of RWBY is finished. What did y'all think?
Personally, I thought it was pretty good all in all. There are a lot of aspects that need work. The voice acting is inconsistent at best, the animation can be very choppy at times, and the writing isn't always great either. Despite that, I can see the story going interesting places, the characters are all interesting despite being somewhat cliched, and the fight scenes are amazing (as expected of Monty Oum). Hopefully now that they have their foot in the door they can get more funding and staff to improve the quality.
For those of you who watched it, what did you think?

1 Reply- Animation was pretty shit. - Music was okay, I guess. - Character development was -blam!-ing abysmal, I swear more development time was spent on Jaunne than RWBY. Yang and Blake are virtually the same as they were when they started out, Weiss only learned about the power of friendship (but still insists on being a bitch), and Ruby learns how to be a leader but is yet to actually lead them and stop their arguments (that happen, like, three times an episode). - This entire volume was basically filler. Jack shit happened story wise and the minute anything starts actually happening this volume is already over. - Action scenes were okay, trailers were much better. Overall 4/10. Monty'd better step the -blam!- up by volume two.

Never even saw the the first episode...I feel like it might actually be some deep implemented sexist reason,as they're mostly girls, and that's why I don't watch it...I mean I'm all for equality but...I dunno kinda -blam!-ed up way of thinking. And I don't like it. Didn't feel like that for the Power puff girls though, until the Rowdy ruff boys.

It's alright, I enjoy the fighting and the voice acting is fine but the rest of it is......meh.

I couldn't get into it. I know it was low budget, but the art and animation just turned me off. By "art", I mean the design. It felt like all the worst anime-character tropes. I can see how some might people like it, but it's just not for me.

Just say it's average and move on. Don't compliment it just because you have some connection with rooster teeth, there's no need to sugar coat it. If it's average says it's average.

Considering half the anime I drop are better than it in a single episode I think it is fairly obvious what my opinion on it is. If anything my issue with the show is I don't see anything good about it and it takes pretty much every possible cliche from anime and puts it into a single show.

2 RepliesI remember watching the first episode when it premiered. Then I never watched it again. From what I've read and heard it's just cheap filler, shitty voice acting, and anime cliches. Don't get me wrong, I like Roosterteeth, but I don't like Monty and think RWBY was a big mistake on their part.

Some episodes it will be choppy or there will be some inconsistencies (Episode 15), but some are smooth and polished (Episode 16). But character design, art style, character development, the fight scenes, and the soundtrack were done really well. Voice acting has certainly improved over time. Looking forward to Volume 2 :)

Decent the mystery could have been better as well as setting of story. Right now feels like a normal highschool drama show in a different world.

As a show, it was rather meh for me, I feel like it didn't have good plot development. But it's a wonderful internet series.
