Suros Regime or Red Death?
Hi all
I currently have Suros maxed, I'm wondering if it's worth prioritising levelling Red Death to use in Crota Hard mode instead?
I know that Red Death looks pretty awesome, but which is the better of the two?

Both rifles are pretty good(don't judge me on the Suros part) although I would prefer Red Death.

I use red death since I'm a sword bearer who will need full health most of the time. And since I'm not shooting anything really it's well worth the exotic slot

It's not really about Ghorn, Icebreaker or any other weapon guys. I just wanted to know which the best gun was between Suros Regime and Red Death. From what others have said, it seems Red Death is the better option, even more so when they release the weapons update.

Neither are necessary if you can gain health from orbs. Waste of an exotic slot IMO.

1 ReplyHey Biggs, yea it does seem faulty to me lately, it hardly ever seems to regen any health and it does seem to only ever proc after a kill when it rarely does. Quite possibly a bug but I've not heard anything about it :/

It looks like Red Death is gonna be pretty awesome after the next update! I think it's clear that it's already the best gun for Crota, it's gonna be interesting to see how much of a difference the changes actually make!

The thing about suros, is that only the bottom half of each magazine has a CHANCE to heal you. Where the Red Death GUARANTEES health regeneration after a kill.

Red Death is better because every kill heals you, unlike SUROS, you have to get half the mag out and there's only a chance you can get healed.

Perhaps it's just me, but has anyone ever noticed that Suros seems faulty? I mean in the perk description it says it has a chance to return health while dealing damage. However, I've only noticed it returns health only after a kill. This is where it should differ from Red Death. I'm not sure if it's an error in the coding, or if it was meant to be that way. Just saying that's what I've seen.

Thanks all for the replies so far guys! From the comments it seems that most are leaning to Red Death. The voting is set to 50/50 exactly however! It does seem to be mainly down to preference, I think I'll just level up Red Death and see which works best for me :)

Red Death is more consistent. If you get a kill, it will heal you. With suros...it may not. And then there may not be something else to kill to heal you. Red death all the way.

1 ReplyIf you're a great shot, the Red Death can replace the Vex. I had gotten my Red Death the first week of the games launch, and I fell in love with it ever since. However I am a bit upset that Bungie has removed the "it's a guardian killer" from the title.

Red death is better in my option for crota out of the 2 as suros has a chance to regen health whereas red will garentee health. Just kill a thrall and you are back to full health

Red death does more damage and always heals you Suros does not

Suros. Suros regens health on any damage from bottom half of the clip. Red Death regens on a kill. One is wayyyyyy easier than the other.

Hard choice! I have both and love both, think red death edges it due to the guaranteed health regen and its looks!!
