Let's discuss our fears, shall we?
Maybe i've done this before, maybe I haven't, but either way if I did it was obviously quite some time ago, but anyway, moving on.
I was just reflecting on something which brought me to the subject of fear. Fear is a valuable emotion because it also serves as a survival mechanism, because some of the things we fear, we fear for good reason such as in cases where we're fearful of something that could potentially cause us harm. However, fear isn't always rational, and sometimes we feel fearful of things that on the surface don't necessarily make sense to be afraid of. That in mind, pick an unusual or irrational fear you have, and present it here. Also take a moment to reflect on that fear and really try to figure out an explanation as to why you might be afraid of it.
What brought this subject to my mind was a reflection on the fact that I have tendencies to be fearful of water on infrequent and irregular occasions, like most days it wouldn't happen, and once in a blue moon it would. It wouldn't even have to be a large body of water like a lake or an ocean, just a shower or hearing running water would be enough. I'd start to see very vivid images in my head relating to water that would terrify me to the point of wanting to be as far away from it as possible. I've never really come up with a valid reasoning for this, i've come up with a few reasons as to why I would be discomforted in a large body of water, but nothing that would account for the pure terror even the sound or physical sensation of water can very rarely bring.

Losing sight. Death of any more loved ones... Not being able to save someone's life, even something's life, like a small cat or something.

I'm not afraid of heights. I'm afraid of falling from them. Also, big spiders, virtually all snakes, freezing and being asphyxiated. I was also (when I was <6 or so) afraid of showers. Long story short: when your dad is holding you and slips in the pool, you may confuse it with a shower if you're little.

This is really odd. Now as a kid up until 10-11 I used to get extremely bad nightmares. I refused to sleep in my bed. I remember from as far back as I can 5-6 maybe having these terrible nightmares of a woman with black hair being in my closet. There was a small crawlspace in the closet sometimes she would be up there. Anyways so for this reason I refused to sleep in there. Now as I got older these dreams subsided, only have had one or two in the last 8 years now 23. It really bugged me so today I started to google. And to my amazement I found it. The demon Abyzou which was from European origin(where my ancestors come from), was the female I had seen in my nightmares for years. Pictures of what she could look like really are quite accurate to what I seen in my dreams. I had never even heard of this demon before so it was quite amazing- they explain her as a demon that causes many still births and infant deaths. Oddly enough the one side of my family has had two miscarraiges one was my mother and the child was to be born right after me. They say this demon might be encountered with moths. Oddly enough moth balls were always in my closet from my mother. TLDR Has anyone every had demonic experiences ghosts etc?

It's weird because I know that gravity is on my side in this case, but whenever I'm under a starry night sky (which I love btw) or in a building where the roof is really high (basketball stadiums) I can't look up. My blood rushes into or out of my legs (can never tell) and I lose it. I have to either close my eyes or hold onto something. The worst its ever gotten was when I was in DC and went to the base of the Washington monument. I was so freaked out by its size that closing my eyes and holding onto something didn't work. I sucked it up and managed to wait until my family were done checking it out, but just remembering it now makes me nervous.

2 RepliesFor me probably after life. Death happens but I'm always afraid of what comes after that. Will I go to heaven or hell? Or will I just be in darkness with just my thoughts until eternity? I guess you could say I have the fear of the unknown too.
