My biggest problem is his shield not going down and slicing the sword bearer after second hit without any chance of him moving

We has this problem a lot, are you on PS4? Try leaving the chat party and using the in game chat, that and getting host to pop to orbit and back in. It helped us massively with a lot of the issues, especially Crota not going down when he should be!
