People are not finishing the hard raid because of lack of knowledge, lack of coming into it prepared and lack of skill.
Knowing what to do and how to react is critical on this raid.
My last completion we were about to take crota down. In the middle of full on enrage the boomers decided out of nowhere to agro the sword bearer.
A simple shot in the head with black hammer shut that shit down and we were able to complete the mission.
If I would not have rocked that boomer we would have failed. Everyone else was sitting there cheering because we were about to win. Everyone wants to watch crota die. The last thing you need to be looking at is the sword bearer beating up on crota. Everyone else's job is to keep him safe but so few actually pay attention. Sword bearer jumps down and I make damn sure nothing gets withing 10 feet of him. Everyone worries so much about themselves and not enough about covering and helping teammates. I love this raid because it's not about being a bad ass lone wolf. It's about team work. The faster everyone figures that out the better.

^^This... Luckily I had a group last night, which about 50% of us were paying attention at that crucial moment. Crota enraged, we all concentrated on Crota but I and one other also watched out for adds. Funny enough, thrall came out of nowhere, killed 3 of us just as Crota was getting DPS'd I turned, punched one in the face as it was plunging towards me, we turned back to Crota for sword bearer to get his last hit in, Crota dead... First time killing him in HM is such a great feeling!

Once hes enraged the damn thrall spawn up top im guessing u were all on mid glass it did same to me when we beat him 2 guys got knocked out by thrall i jumped just in time to fire a final gally at the knights to save the sword guy and kill crota!

Oh yeah. Btw, thrall come through the glass on enrage. Lol. A lot of people don't seem to know this but it happens every time. That little story I told as an example, I died from thrall slashing my back. I didn't have time to fight them off. Boomers had to be shut down at all cost. We won with me dead because of it.

Were we in the same raid group?? Lol jk, that's exactly what happened with my team. Fair enough, who would have thought they would come through the glass but I was so paranoid/hyped at that point that I was looking for anything to happen. It's funny how thrall happen to glitch through the glass at the exact point of enrage, think it's Bungie trolling us? :D

Yeah thralls through glass happens all the time. You can melee them through though.

I totally agree. I have tried hours upon hours to do it and people just don't do what's needed. I finally did it last night with team and the reason.... They all worked for the greater good of the team. They all made sure they generated orbs for the titan bubbles. All fired rockets at sword bearer to get him down in seconds. Rocketed crota and all ensured the boomers where not attacking sword holder. Did it in 3 swords. It was pretty straight forward if selfless teamwork is employed.

This. Beaten HM twice and this can't be more true. That and get a good crew and learn it with them. This isn't the boss fight for LFG.

Can't disagree with the post. Teamwork is so vital on normal mode let alone hard mode. If one person isn't up to the task then it can really hinder the progress of your team. Communication is just vital. I've found with some groups online who are still trying to cheese the damn thing which leads me to believe they never bothered learning the raid in the first place. For example player with one guy a couple of nights ago who insisted on cheesing the bridge part and when I said we were doing it legit (I was fireteam leader) I had to run through the cp with him as he had no idea to do it.
