I hate my disability
Everytime I ran through the raid doesn't matter what difficulty it is I'm always to blame. I can't hear half the thing my teammate say even though I have game sound muted and party chat volume max out. It become a burden when almost every team I go into the raid with end up kicking me just because they claim I can't "communicate" I'm partly deaf I tell people that just so they understand and yet still kick me. Now I feel my current group is gonna do that exact same thing because of crotas end HM. Half the time I feel like I should just give up and get rid of this game.
Edit1: glad to know there are people who support and/or have the same disability
Edit 2: I'm on the one and sometime 360. I appreciate that people offer to do the raid/weekly with them.
Edit 3: wow such amazing and surprising response from the destiny community.
Edit 4: I should be more clear about my current group. They tell me they wouldn't kick me out of the group but half the time I feel they will because of how frustrated it can be.
Edit 5:surprised people are still replying to this post. Make me glad that there alot of people that care on this game.

I'd say something like "it gets better," but you've got 19 raid completion vs. my 2. you're having a much easier time finding a group than I. keep on keeping on.

It is hard to put in words but I have a much better way of understanding what is being said when I can visualize someone's face on the mic ( like my brother ) and on the phone. I don't want to be that guy that says " what? " all the time in a raid. Not using a mic is the only reason I don't raid. That and just not wanting to spend three hours on one thing and not knowing if I'm the reason for all the wipes. Oh well.

I have a rather nice solution! Me and my friends use skype. We mostly voice chat, but if we have details we post/type up guides/strategies. I am not sure if voicechat on game systems have improved lately but from what I have experienced with the 360 a year ago, it kind of sucks. X:

1 ReplyA lot of people get frustrated when they fail time and time again which leads to short tempers. I'm sorry to hear that people aren't as understanding but try not to beat yourself up too much either. Not sure how party chat works on xbox, however the clarity of in-game chat is horrible on PSN

Wish you were on PS4 me and my group deal with NAT problems in the raid all the time, and while not the same it hampers our communication. We would have loved to accept you in our group. Hopefully you can find a friendly group of gamers on XBO/360 who can be mature about your disability.

Just keep at it and find a better group. They're just insensitive and that isn't cool. If I was still on XB I'd help you out but I switched to ps4 recently.

It's not your disability at fault more like people being impatient and not willing to accommodate someone having a hearing problem. If people you raid with use you as an excuse if things don't go well then time to find a different group. There will be people who are cool with it. Good luck dude and keep playing.

It's not you bro. It's people now a days assHOles. Find a better raid team. One that can accept you for you and has no problem with you I have a clan called rlg raid league gaming we do raid everyday and help each other out should play sometime we don't care if people have a mic or not we carry all the time lol

I am sorry to hear about your issue, and can totally see how it would affect you enjoying your game play. My question to you is this... Is it possible to buy bigger/louder speakers to help you with your problem? You could probably get a set for next to nothing and it would allow you to really crank up your volume. The only other option I can think of is to get hearing aids with built in bluetooth that you could link your pc to while playing. Granted, these are a bit on the pricier side, but bluetooth hearing aids do exist as we had a guy at work buy some so he could link his cell phone to them.

and another thing people who kick or remove or in any other way shape or form take the piss out of a person with a disablity should be banned instantly and for good just report them and they should be named and shamed

Leaving your disability aside and just focusing at this purely from a gameplay perspective, communication is very important, if someone can't communicate they are a burden, and I would probably kick them.
