Just killed Crota as sword-bearer using the info you gave. Cannot thank you enough for this made my job much easier, you are legend! The way i did it was (4+3)+(4+2)+(3+2) smashes which worked like a charm, i found only going for two smashes on the second sword, second down gives much more time to escape and reduces the chance of a wipe. Some more specific Bladedancer tips i would add from my experiences. A) Use super + invisibility to be at the sword as it drops (Gives you more time to do the below tactics) B) Sword swipe as you jump onto the rock to cancel the Invisibility. C) Use Crouch to go invisible on the rocks. (I find counting to 3 should do it) D) Give the order to burn Crota as you jump up, this will mean you are always at his feet as he drops. this is the round you should push for 4 hits. Timing might depend on your DPS team, If you are finding you are waiting by his feet to long then adjust your timing. E) Dropping the sword and using your blink strike means that you will be at his feet again for the second round so it is highly advantageous if you practice this. Try (if you can) to stab him when you are between him and the oversoul, he will turn this way and sometimes when he goes down will be facing this way meaning your best escape route will be out the front (shortest route). Sometimes Crota will swipe for you where you stabbed him so strife away form that spot to be safe. F) Using this tactic i never had an issue with sword disappearing during swipes but once or twice (When the sword drops far away or my invisibility didn't come up straight away) i had it disappear during my escape, just be aware that this can happen and be prepared for it and you should be ok. This is the reason i advise against 4 hits on the second round, target is 6 hits per sword so you have the breathing space to do this. As for the general tactics the Center platform + Titan bubble backup worked the best. I've seen a few other tactics (Ice-breaker duty/distraction in the Ogre room/Titan distraction on the bridge) but the bubble blocking the boomers is the best because you have blessing/orbs to help with escape and your titan can take down the swordbarer if he hides. Here are some tips you should give your Titan. A) Your titans secondary function is burning that swordbearer if/when he hides. His weapons should be specced as such. Personally i find rocket launchers to be a risk amongst thrawls so prefer Thunderlord or Song of Yut. B) Ask your titan to run behind you when going for the rocks. Sometimes thrawls will jump for him miss and get you even if you are invisable, and as we all know hunters are a bit squishy compared to titans. C) There is a chance he never ran the sword to take a minute to show him where you are going and tell him how quick Crota can be after getting up so he knows he cannot hang about.
