Easy af. Why bother doing it if you cant even pass this step. Thorn is mainly a pvp weapon and not that easy to use.

I got it last night! I was trying to do it with a void sniper and not getting anywhere so I switched to void shotty and when I got shot at just switched to my primary to keep from getting killed. So did it about an 1.5 hrs.
