You don't need it...There's plenty of helmets that give health for picking up orbs. And plenty of weapons.
While it would be interesting to see the gatekeeper killed and drop it, but if the bearer wastes time on him, you won't beat Crota.
And it's hard mode...it has to be a little harder.

If you don't kill Crota in 3 swords, you're done. He is also on an enrage timer. Having the swordbearer waste time killing the gatekeeper, means his could risk his sword despwaning while trying to hit Crota, doing less damage to him.

[b]OP:[/b] Almost positive you don't have to beat him in 3 runs. And you'd only have to kill gate keeper once I suppose.

In my experience with the Crota boss fight...after 3 swords it doesn't work.
