I think Bungie's bitchslap was a little bit harder
-
Nope, I expected Destiny to be in some form of what it is, ESO? Nope, absolute shit.
-
How could you expect a mediocre, half-assed game when Bungie advertised something completely different?
-
I never listen to ads, and ESO did it wayyyyyyy worse
-
They are two COMPLETELY different games.
-
And? They're both going to have the same reaction, they actually already did have the same reaction but now console players will have the reaction.
-
ESO wasn't nearly as hyped as Destiny was. Honestly you'll have to be an idiot to think soo. I'm one of the biggest TES fans (see my name? In honor of elder scrolls day) I know ESO wasn't good but don't say the game will have the same reaction that Destiny had. We know what we're getting with ESO but we didn't with the destiny.
-
We know 2 years later, Initial release was hyped up way more than density, then they delayed it for consoles and everyone on PC realized it was shit.
-
No it wasn't. ESO was hyped but nowhere near destiny. And the disappointment afterwards was much greater with destiny.
-
No it wasn't, Elder scrolls fans was much greater than Bungie
-
Not disputing that but the difference in hype was just to great in Destiny's favor.
-
Not really, we just heard more because of more people playing it, outcomes were the same, and it's going to be the same again.
-
With your logic every bad game was over hyped. Destiny was more hyped, just admit it. Activision spent 6.7 million on tv ads alone. Idk the ESO numbers but I doubt they were near that.
-
You're just judging on ads n shit. Bethesda is multiples more legendary than Bungie. The disappointment was much greater regardless on how much money was spent. Destiny is a whole new series.
-
Once again I won't dispute the bgs vs bungie(Although I do favor bgs) however eso was still a new game. Yea it had the elder scrolls name but it wasn't a single player epic, it did a 180 in terms of what Bethesda is usually about. So It was new, idk how any Bethesda fan would of though it was a normal elder scrolls game.
-
Same thing happened with Destiny, everyone expected Halo.
-
But bungie didn't advertise halo, the game just looked like it.
-
Advertising is irrelevant here. That's not where the hype came from.
-
But.... thats... how.... people... get.... hyped.... when something is crazy advertised more people start to take notice and then some start getting excited and then the hype starts.
-
Everyone that was hyped wasn't hyped by commercials.
-
Edited by Clavicus Gank: 1/22/2015 5:55:39 AMThen how were they hyped? Either by commercials or because they liked halo... so in that case how were sony fans hyped? Considering the majority of them dislike halo
-
I got hyped because of the game itself. 1. Made by bungie 2. The way te co-op worked (which is now a complete failure.) 3. The world of destiny 4. It looked awesome 5. Character leveling and abilities 6. The beta
-
So bungie right? I'm still right Bungie=Halo remember? You got hyped because Bungie The creator of Halo was making a new Sci Fi game. It also helped that they advertised that they made halo in some of their posters (at stores like Gamestop)
-
That's kinda what I said minus posters
-
And that's what I said earlier. You either got hyped by ads or because a game that people liked (Halo) creator was making the game.
