Idea for Negating cheesing rather than trying to stop it...

SO we have all gotten to the point where we see the cheaters will never stop and that it is a,most pointless (not entirely but to some extent) for bungie to keep trying to fix cheeses that people figure out how to do again. Instead of committing to bash heads into the wall trying to figure out how to change the code to prevent people from cheating, why not implement pieces of code that encourage people to do it the right way. For example, we all have seen he people who need to cheat in order to complete the bridge encounter. Well, regardless of how they fix it, once completed everyone in the fire team gets loot. Why not instead, have each player have an objective or task that needs to be completed in order to earn gear/weapons rather than just shards/energy? If the bridge encounter required each individual player to kill a gatekeeper, then we would EFFECTIVELY NEGATE any cheating on this part! Would people still cheese it to get passed it, sure! And let them! however, they would not be privy to the armor, weapon or otherwise premium drops! Not only do I feel these kinds of requirements can be implemented effectively, they can be implemented rather easily! Bungie tracks just about every stat we perform in game, even down to the number of bullets fired. So they know how many gatekeepers are killed, etc. all that needs to be don't is connect those dots and make them player requirements. Obviously for the other parts of the raid different individual player requirements can be offered that need to be met to qualify for premium drops at the completion of any given stage of the raid. ((on Deathsinger part each player needs a certain number of kills or certain amount of total damage dealt. In the thrall pit instead of just being able to cross the bridge when its built there should be some waves of enemies that spawn on the other side that must be dealt with, rather than just kiting everything and running away - obviously these are simply vague ideas and better "tasks" can be implemented using this same idea. What do you guys think??? (PS - For Crota, a nightfall modifier should be implemented, but not for everyone on the fire team dying. Instead, if someone leaves the fire team, the whole team is then sent back to orbit (of course keeping their checkpoint where they were.) This would negate people from tryingg to glitch out crota by disconnecting, easy...)

  • These ideas are stupid. There is nothing wrong with cheese in the first place. By coming up with these strategies guardians demonstrate their ingenuity and that should be discouraged

  • Yeeeeaaaah, no. 1)If someone lags out near the end of an encounter, you'd expect the whole fireteam to wait until they connect again? 2)This would really hurt the inexperienced as you said "if everyone had one requirement to complete". What if someone, with no experience, had the requirement to land the final blow on Ir Yut?

    • Wouldn't be a bad idea but they would need to make sure that the raids can be done solo intentionally. Because I certainly have no intention of paying money I earn at work only to have a game I need to rely on others to play. Oh btw then you really will have to earn your own rewards.

    • Your suggestions on the bridge part would't work because today i played with a random group that never did CE and since I was the better equipped and most experienced played i crossed the bridge and killed the ogres on my own. We didn't cheat but we killed only two swordbaerers. One with a sword and the other fell of while chasing me. If bungie implemented the mechanic you suggested these guys wouldn't have gotten their rewards and their only fault was to be unexperienced not cheesers

      • Tl;dr. Get over yourself. Cheating has been a part of gaming, since the beginning. In fact, many games deliberately write in cheats, just to be exploited. Ever play GTA, Mario Brothers, any Lego game? Just those three, all have cheat codes. Smh.

        • Make it fun to do, that's the fix. I've done it legit and I've cheesed. I choose cheese every -blam!-ing time.

          • Don't really care how it's done. Bungies fault for not testing their own game. If people find easier ways to beat parts of the game, they're still playing in the game that bungie made. The only thing I think is cheesing is the disconnect cheese that was removed since it requires messing with connection. The problem with objectives for raid encounters is that it will be holding your hand telling u exactly what to do and that makes the raid even more boring than it already is.

              • That would be a great way to stop afk people from getting loot in strikes as well.

                • Cheesing is generally a problem with the design. When you pigeon hole one method to getting what everyone is wanting, and casuals can't do it. They read an article that says "easy mode" they have no other outs but to try it. Also cheesing comes about when people are bored due to lack of a variety of things to do.
