Soloing Crota's End Bridges, Swordbearer is a Coward.
Ok, I was soloing the bridge encounter after the patch. The first time I used the glitch to despawn the thralls just so I could figure out how to best build the bridge. That attempt was successful the sword bearer watches at a distance then goes an hides, but about the time the bridged is formed he rushes at you, which makes killing him easy.
After the success at that run, I decided to try it "Legit" aka without despawning the thralls. I was able to fend them of quite easily and fully form the bridge and keep it formed for a bit. But after waiting around, the swordbearer never came for me. I keep looking around and I find him hiding near the totems. I tried shooting him to get him to agro on em, but no luck. Obliviously' I cant go to far away from the plate or else the bridge will deform.
One time I was able to get him to rush me, but it was to soon. He was sitting right there on the plate with me and I couldn't consistently build the bridge, evade him and try to kill him all at the same time.
Does anyone a surefire way to get him to rush you or at least come close enough to kill him in time to grab the sword and get over the bridge?

Sometime you just need to wipe and try again. The Swordbearer is unpredictable and sometime makes it difficult to solo buy sometime makes it easy. It just depends on what he decides to do. I have yet to find a way to make his actions more predictable.

This is happening to me but during the Crota fight. The dam sword bearer goes off and hide. It's annoying.

I have done this a few times, it seems to work best for me if he goes right or center, just keep an eye on him (while killing thrawls) so you know where he is. You can try to aggro him a little but if it doesn't work and he hasn't wandered off to far don't worry about it. Then once the bridge is built run to him as fast as possible and nuke him with gallihorn, grenade, sniper, golden gun, whatever to make the kill as fast as possible. Then get the sword and run, you will have to jump near the end of the bridge as it's deconstructing and fly across but it's not too bad. Also take the shortest route to the bridge which typically means flying to it after you kill the sword bearer.

1 ReplyAtleast he isn't like a captain. They teleport like a bitch when their shields go down. But I hate the sword bearer in the end when you have to kill Crota. Sometimes he won't even come to us allowing Crota to move.

2 RepliesThis is happening to me too. Solo'd the first part without a problem. Now the swordbearer is being a -blam!-ing vagina and hiding from me. Hive are the only enemies in a game that hide so much. Whoever developed them -blam!-ed up REALLY -blam!-ing bad.
