You can get an Exotic or Legendary Engram from anywhere . Even a Dreg lvl 2 on Patrol. However the drop ratio (especially after nuking the Loot Cave) is so low you would have to Patrol the same Patrol non~stop. Everyday you got on , then it may drop. See , for example: when (if they haven't already) the Trials of Osiris tickets start dropping it will be like this: play Crucible for a chance of the ticket invitation to drop . If you want your *win ratio to go up to have an impact at your chances getting it on a roll ~ remain playing only 1 game mode. (Control for example) if you switch back & forth between it & Skirmish or whichever , it resets your *win ratio, lowering your chance for it to drop. So, the most effective ways ,obviously are~ Roc,Nightfall,Iron Banner,Queen's Wrath,Vendor level up (sure as Hell ain't from the Cryptarch Nemesis) & Weekly Strikes. But, as I said you can get it anywhere . When the Loot Cave existed pre~patch & pre~da|||n that sh*t ain't here no 'mo, you shot & got greens, longer~ greens/some blues,longer~couple greens/blue soup. Longer~blues/!$!Purple!$!. & for those either on @dderr@ll,no life & bored,or stalker level persistence~ blues/purples/•*•$YELLOW$•*•!!! I only shot in that cave 3 times,at 5 mns apiece , and to stock up on ammo for the bounties I was running (as well as curious amusement, wanted to see it "glow" like people said it would.) But just to let you know~ Don't go chasing Dragons my friend. If you want an Exotic Collection ,don't be overly stingy with Xur. Get what he has unless you have it. It'll grow. If you chase after E E all day, you will be sadly , SADLY disappointed . Just assume you won't get one at all, EVER (except at Xur). That way 1 of 2 things will happen: 1.You won't. *& you won't be disappointed. 2.You take advantage of 1 of the limited time events & higher drop rates , sticking to it like glue. *& you will pee yourself when Icebreaker happens to be flashing yellow on the same line as your name. Everything you listed giving exotic weapons can also give you exotic armor. Just ROC strikes though in the rewards screen I believe.
