Just posting this seeing what everyone thinks of themselves.
I'm just gonna touch on a basic concert of what I think each one is. Since if I tried to give a full blown definition someone would get something in a bunch or tell me I have my head shoved up somewhere. Also my last name isn't Webster so I don't care about definitions.
Hardcore: An individual that will disregard all social and personal responsibilities, except those that are needed to function, to play a video game.
Standard: An individual that will turn down or push back social obligations for a few hours to play a video game.
Casual: An individual that picks up the controller to wipe the dust collection on it more often then play
I used to consider myself hardcore as I remember sitting outside of game stop for a midnight release playing on my hand held to not be without. Then burning rubber to get home to sit down with a pile of easily shoveable food to one side and a two liter or two on the other. Then spending the next unknown amount of hours playing till I either passed out or had obligations I couldn't put off anymore.
However after meeting my wife that has changed drastically. I can probably still sit down for a good 24 hours of gaming but it could only happen if my wife is out of town, and hasn't left me with a list of things that need doing. Also it would probably be something besides destiny, unless one of these times happens on a DLC drop. Most likely some old school RPG, shinging force(1-3), chrono trigger, wonder boy in monster world etc, etc. So I would have to consider myself standard now.
