EDIT: There are two reason to open this store, one to make the game accessible to casual gamer (people who spend less than 3 hours a day on the game) but the main and most important reason is to get Bungie some staple income so that they aren't desperately trying to pump out expansion after expansion. They need a monthly source to keep them afloat during the development stages. I'm not just looking for an easy way out, view my profile I've put in my time enough to know that I am disappointed in the new progression of weapons and gear, so much so that I would rather spend money rather than more time to upgrade my gear. I will still have to grind out the experience to level it up but, I wouldn't be forced to raid to complete the circuit.
ORIGINAL POST STARTS HERE>>
So, here's an idea. You open up a Bungie digital store for Destiny where there will be available for purchase:
Ghost Skins (#1 preemo swag)
Ghost voice overs (because it's a computer why not more options)
Ascendent(older) materials
EDIT: Exotic Guns (pre TDB only capable of reaching 300 damage)
Ships (#2 preemo swag),
Class Items
Gun shaders [Thanks YokoFaux, good idea]
a starter kit for new comers and veterans alike, complete with a tasty selection of blue guns (level 8, 12, 16, and 19) a ship and a few Ascendent materials to get you ready for when the purples start to drop.
I think for the right price you could make several million transactions a month to keep you fed while you spend all your time and energies working on your goal of world domination (if that still is your goal, I didn't get the usual letter in the game box). Let me know what you guys think. Also, Bungie I've sent you my credentials, hopefully the doughnut becomes clear.
EDIT: Removed Radiant Shards from the inventory list, upon reflection the idea was deemed counter productive. Also added visual relief from the text block that was the original post.

Those emotes tho
-
Everyone likes money
-
If anything sold by them is actually available to get within the game than I'm all ears. Also I doubt they're the starving artists you're making them out to be.
-
Could be a good idea if it only sold cosmetic features. Other wise it would become pay to win.
-
Why are people so hell bent on making this game pay to win. Unfortunately for those without a bunch of free time every week this game requires time to progress. If you don't have that go live your life. There's nothing wrong with that.
-
I like this idea. Especially the part where I can buy exotics. I've been trying to get Suros for over 500 hours now.
-
I have no doubt activision will start forcing bungie to do this. This is how series are ruined with crap like this. If you want to buy every little thing go play cod that is what it is there for. Micro transactions are stupid and I hope they never implement them but knowing activision it is only a matter of time.

I haven't seen a lot of people that want to be nickeled and dimes much more. The game was marketed under false pretenses and created consumer assumptions/expectations of what it was and it fell way short of those expectations. Now with the DLC becoming horrendously close to a pay-to-win model ... I dunno man. I dunno.

I should wash your mouth out with soap. Smh

Edited by C0LL0C0: 12/31/2014 7:19:07 PMThis is a shit idea if I've ever seen one, if this happens destiny WILL be dead to me as well as millions of other users

I think the poll results speak for themselves...this wouldn't be a good idea at all. Yes, I would buy gear and weapons if they sold them and I know many others would as well. I would probably pay $50 just for an ice breaker. However, this game would lose a lot of its appeal if I could buy everything that I wanted. This game keeps me coming back because I have fun playing it and part of that fun is trying to get gear that I don't have. If I could buy everything I wanted then I'd never care about packages from leveling up the cryptarch, factions, etc. I wouldn't care about my nightfall rewards. I wouldn't get excited about legendary engrams anymore. The gear hunt/grind is why people are addicted to this game. I agree that they should sell more items in the tower...but not for real money.

Samuel L. Jackson ghost voice. Do it Bungie.
-
-blam!- off.
-
Another pay to win post, go figure! I was fine with it until I saw exotics and high lv materials. And I had enough materials to completely upgrade my first legendary so that isn't necessary either.
-
I mean it would just turn the game into a premium Ipad game and then getting exotics wouldn't feel good
-
If this happens I will stop playing. Earn your random rewards, don't just pay for shit. Freemium games are made by the Canadian Devil!
-
Vanity items aren't pay-to-win, people. I didn't see anything in OP's post that suggested handing out end-game weapons/gear.
-
What kind of choices are that? Bungie already got slatted for not delivering you think it's going to start doing micro transactions? For the love of God no!! Might as well stay on my iPad!
-
I'd be okay with the voice overs/ghost shells and even shaders. I don't think exotics and upgrade materials should be a thing.
-
Micro-transactions belong in free-to-play games not full price, AAA titles. Micro-transactions = pay-to-win
-
Do we really want FarmVille FPS? Buy stuff for real money just to progress faster? I don't think so. ;-) Even if they would sell additional stuff it should be only things that are cosmetic like shaders, sparrows, ghost shells etc.
