Hunter is built around making your weapons more useful. It is for people who would rather rely on tools rather than their own power. Sounds to me like you chose the wrong class...

  • Not at all. I love the Hunter, Ijust think that we have to rely on our tools to BARELY be better than other classes when relying on their tools. Our benefits aren't permanent. Like an extra grenade. Hell, Warlocks with the Claws of Ahamkara get an extra melee AND an extra grenade. Max out strength and discipline and see how far that gets you. Using flame shield with radiant skin and well... you've got a true tank warlock.

  • Okay, after reading some of the posts, I have to say, I was a little quick to judge. I main a warlock, but Hunter was my beta class and I have a 29 hunter, I'm not exactly new to the class, though I haven't extensively played with it. I'm the kind of person who plays games and relies on my magic and abilities, rather than my weapons, so hunter doesn't call to me. The exotic I main on my hunter for pvp is Young Ahamkara's spine, I love being able to set my tripmine, then having a second before that one goes off, I'm a pro at setting those things so people run into them ;) For all other situations I use Knucklehead radar or Achlyophage, and normal raids I use Alpha Lupi because I like being supportive, which is something hunter majorly lacks. After reading the thread, I can agree that most hunter exotics are really lackluster. Though, I have seen myself as a Warlock wishing I had some of the hunter abilities(like chain of woe). Hunters are quite fun to play with, but not my cup of tea. Claws of Ahamkara are AMAZING paired with Monte Carlo. I hardly ever don't have flame shield on. I only use Radiant Skin for the Crota fight, it's close to useless in any other situation, Fireborn is far more useful.

  • Radiant skin works well during Crucible with the Apotheosis. I use it to clutch when I get surrounded. Just jump up and activate it at like half health. You heal, get reduced damage, a free melee Kill, a flame shield for MORE reduced damage, then you toss your firebolts to get anyone down to one shot and head shot them for a breaker or better.

  • Oh yea, lol I forgot about that, I use it for crucible too because fireborn sucks there. I use voidfang though. Starting with 2 fusion grenades every spawn is beast ;)

  • Yeah, i prefer firebolts because they technically have more potential since they kill even without sticking. Or scatters when I run voidwalker. I think the reason I find the hunter perks useless is because i'm already good enough without them... so they don't actually benefit me at all.
