Always thank the media for glamorizing hacking, terrorism, mass murder, etc. If they would just learn to report news and keep their damn biases to themselves then this shit wouldn't get very far.
Kim Dotcom -blam!-ed things up even more rewarding them for -blam!-ing things up for millions of innocent people.

All that giving them a reward/ransom for stopping will give incentive for new groups to start-up and also them to do it again. Both of which will result in incrementally greater ransoms/demands and also a greater frequency of attacks. It's the same reason and principle behind why our leaders always say: [i]"We do not negotiate with terrorists"[/i] Extortion is extortion. The psychology and motives behind kidnappings, keeping hostages and hacking are all the same - just varying degrees of balls.
