Bungie, you guys did NOT increase the chance of legendary engrams in Cryptarch packages
You did not. Its been over 10 cryptarch levels and all I have received are blue engrams. Change the package rarity to blue to properly reflect the contents, or actually fix and actually implement the ridiculous claim youve made. There is no way this is just RNG.
Do something about this. Idgaf if I don't get a legendary engram, just dont lie to me and say you increased the drop rates.
Edit: People seem to be getting a bit confused. I'm talking specifically about the Cryptarch packages (the ones you get in the mail) after you level him up. I'm not talking about blue engrams not giving me purples, or purples engrams not dropping from mobs.
Edit 2: The response and support this thread is getting is amazing. Let's get enough attention to get a dev to respond with an answer that will satisfy us. We want hard numbers, figures, stats, anything. This is definitely not just an RNG thing.

Before Cryptsrch changes, I got legendaries quite often. Only blues now, and the ROC playlist only gives me blues as drops or rewards. Haven't seen anyone get any new ships either, although I've seen players with them...

out of about 10 Cryptarch packages I've gotten about 7 legendaries, you sir just have sh*t luck.

I got legendary engrams frequently from him before the update i havent gotten one since. I think they decreased our chances.

I just got a purple primary engram last level up. It turned out be the badger ccl so I was fairly happy.

All I've gotten is two blue engrams for lvling up the cryptarch. It's pretty sad

You must be high. I've gotten so many Legendaries from the Cryptarch. Even got Exotics out of some of them. You have bad luck. Do the Nightfall and play some Strikes.

My last 2 level ups had 1 purp followed by 2 purps. I haven't leveled him a lot since reset but I had never had back to back purples let alone 2 at one time in the first 28 level ups. It seems like it has been bumped for me. One of those purps turned into an exotic for me which was the first time this has happend to me since starting.

I've noticed a slightly higher chance, barely anything. I went maybe 7-10 ranks all blue and 3 since up day have been getting 3-4 blue on 2 and the other was a blue and 2 purple.

Everytime i level up i walk over to the postmaster and say to myself " two blues please" the only time i haven't got two blues was once when i got three blues, i was so happy ;-)

3 RepliesI'm curious to know what level the people who are complaing about the Cryptarch are. The guy who commented about gambling with Rahool is right. If you want a greater chance of legendary or exotic weapons/armor play the Nightfall or do Tiger strikes and the new Roc strikes. Play the weekly with 3 characters and buy something from Xur. Nightfall, strikes, I think P.E's all give you Vanguard marks. Play a bunch of crucible. You get marks there too. Grab a faction and rank it up. With that you'll be able to get all the legendary and exotics you can use. It's easier to rank up more than ever. You can't expect a game to last if acquiring favorable items can be easily obtained by handing in a crap ton of green Decoherent engrams. Whether you earn your gear by playing the raid or nightfall or earn the strange coins to buy exotics from Xur, you have more control of your "Destiny" than gambling with that snake it the grass Rahool

I am in the same boat I don't think the rates were increased, the only that happened is the amount of exp needed to level him was decreased. In till they provide stats for the cryptarch chances I will think otherwise. Edit 1: The Cryptarch hates everyone equally.

nope. your luck just sucks. ive gotten 2 in 5 tries, very rarely got them before. even in increase from 1 out of a million to 1 out of 900,000 is an increased chance. Doesnt mean it will look much different though.

Same I have ranked 20 times combined across my three characters and have only gotten one purple.

Ive gotten no legendary engrams since the dlc but i got an exotic from the nightfall and happened to get 2 exotic bounties almost back to back after the dlc

It rained purpz week one (mostly junk though). After that, it's been all blues for me. Crappy, yes. But that's RNG.

The first two after the update gave me legendries but none since. Seems unlikely they would "lie" but I know how people feel the need to over dramatize things in this place.

10 RepliesPackages from the cryptarch are purple, therefore it is impossible to receive any blue objects from it. If you receive any blue engrams, report it as a bug and hopefully it will be fixed soon.
