Quest chain to make your first gun last till the end game.
I don't know where this came from but I believe I have a great idea for a quest chain with multiple paths.
First off I just wanna say I remember when I got the first gun you find after starting up my titan for the first time. I thought to myself "great now I can kill stuff". What I am proposing is utilizing that first gun and turning it into something grand. With all of the different weapons in the game lets give the nostalgists something to crave.
My idea is that you offer people an opportunity to upgrade the gun with different interconnecting paths with upgrades based on the types of enemies you face with the gun.
Choosing a path involving the Fallen could make the gun look more like something the vandals or captains might carry, and the same goes for the other enemy types as well.
There would be tiers of missions that upgrade the gun to an uncommon, then rare, and then finally a legendary. Each tier would include harder and harder missions with the hardest involving killing a specific strike boss for the upgrade path you choose, with the final piece of the path offering a damage boost to that enemy type or something. Not too overpowered to make killing Crota or Atheon a cakewalk but something still substantial.
You could even call the chain the "Tale of the Gun" or something but I think it would give something back to the players and offer us another thing to do other than rep grinding and cheesing raid bosses...
