You guys and gals know what I'm talking about? When you load up the VOG and see a group full of 30s and 31s. You go to inspect their armor, and most of it is Vanguard Light 33.
"Have you done/beaten the hard raid before?"
"Yeah all the time!"
*[b]15 minutes later[/b]*
"How do we kill the Templar?"
"What's a gorgon?"
"What side is Venus?"
"There's a Conflux at Gatekeeper?!"
"Wait, those Harpies explode?"
"Why am I detained?!"
And my favorite: "There's no revives on hard?"
People. Please be honest. Personally, I [i]love[/i] explaining the mechanics of the VOG to new people. I love helping VOG virgins through it for the first time. It's awesome.
But please don't lie about it. If you say you know what you're doing, we won't explain it because we assume you've done it.
Now, what happens if you say you've never done it and get kicked from a group? Well that's a good thing. Because those people have no tolerance and patience (and time). You don't want to raid with people like that. You want a group that is forgiving, loose, chill, and can help others.
I love helping people. But please, don't lie. It makes it easier on everybody.

This is great. I've never gone as far as inspecting people's armor but I'm going to start now.... I hate hosting VoG, I always join but for one reason or another, 80% of the time I end up taking over and telling people what to do. It must be because of what you stated. I'm also like you, I enjoy the VoG... prefer it over CE. The amount of times I've cleared it does not represent the amount of skill/understanding I have for it. Please people, if you've never done the VoG or have only done it a few times(not enough to not need guidance) please let everyone know. A simple 30min-1hr raid can easily turn into something that'll last 2hrs+ due to wipes and people leaving.

I have a 30 warlock,30 titan and 30 hunter and Im going to be doing 3 normal vog and 3 hard vog this week. Im experianced, armed to the teeth and willing to take 2 new guys with me on each of the normal raids. Ill explain each stage and I have the patients to see you through to the end. once you've run the raid 5-6 times and you're confident at all roles and experianced, we'll hard raid together! I work third shift so during the week im on 8am-12pm but weekends I'm basically always on. To those of you who are experianced, your either all ready on my friends list or I'll see you over in the LFG forum. To those Raid Virgins that cant seem to find help, my gt is EpicallyAverage on the xbox 360, if you see me online send me a message.

Lol. Happened the other night. It was the most annoying thing. We beat it regardless and carried the person who died by the harpies every time or was not shooting the oracles. Smh

1 ReplyI've only done it a handful of times normal and hard. Can use relic, need more friends to run more often though, my biggest setback is I only have maybe 8 people I have actually friended because they are 1 good players and 2 not annoying. Have yet to beat Crota.

5 RepliesAnyone else notice the VoG is more glitchy than normal? We went to do hard last night and had massive issues with health regens. Getting stuck in time gates on relic part. Guns working without perks.

1 ReplySince me and a random stranger formed the clan we're in some months ago, we haven't had to entertain random groups for a long while, but if I were to join a Vault of Glass run now with a bunch of strangers, I'd probably lie and say I've never run the raid before. That way I get to hear how other people do things, and I also have the luxury of being forgiven for mistakes and/or praised for being so good on my [i]first time[/i].

I have an almost full set of raid gear (Missing Helm) on my 24 Hunter, but my 31 is Vanguard and Faction armor (Was there any other way?!?). I'm usually the relic guy unless someone else says they can do it. I love helping new people, but don't say you're 30 on destinylfg.com and then you turn out to be 29 and know nothing on HM VoG. If you want me to help you when it resets or even today, leave a message.(Hard or Norm)
