I'm sorry Pulse Rifles...
...I was wrong. I didn't let you prove how amazing you truly are; how you strip your enemies apart even at the longest of ranges, how you stay calm and on target through your majestic bursts, or how you can out-snipe the best precision rifles with ease.
But now I've seen the light, you truly are a unique little snowflake.
In all seriousness, I've finally found a Pulse Rifle that I feel comfortable with and it is so awesome! I got a pretty damn good roll on it, so I can use it in almost all situations.
Has anyone else found the true power of the pulse?
Edit: My Pulse Rifle is Three Little Words with Red Dot-ORES, Rangefinder, Fitted Stock and Reactive Reload. It's an absolute beast.

I'd rather have VoC at long ranges, and heck even at short ranges. I'd take a handcannon over a pulse rifle in almost every imaginable scenario as well. I've just never found a play style that pulses suit really well.

Only pulse rifle I like is the bad juju. The new ones I've come across are actually weaker in every way to the old pulse rifles.

First off..I love pulse rifles! That being said does your current build (class, armor type, subclass) have any affect on what drops? I haven't gotten ANY pulse rifles or sniper rifles in the past 2 weeks. I like my legendary assault rifle but I'd love to have a pulse rifle.

My first legendary was a strange suspect, I maxed it out and still use it sometimes. That fun does work.

Im not a big fan of pulse rifle, its just hard for me to kill a cabal phalanx with it and i get my ass kick every time i use it in crucible, i just prefer scout and auto rifle :/

Bad juju is as good as any weapon in pve , especially when it involves the hive.i can literally fly through the hell mouth strike without having to load my gun once. The gun should be renamed crow control !

I've got 'the conduit' on my hunter, and with the stability and quick reload perks it is a fun little gun for screwing around on patrol.

1 ReplyFor my first 50+ hours of gameplay past level 20 my only legendary was the legendary pulse rifle [i]Fair and Square[/i]. Needless to say, I got sick of it and was so glad when I finally found something to replace it. Ever since then, I've never really been able to stomach using pulse rifles.

i love pulse rifles. bad juju is an amazing weapon if you know how to use it. and red death reminds me of my battle rifle in halo. if i could id cuddle with the weapon all night long. would have to take off that bayonet for that though. id totally end up stabbing myself in my sleep....

The reloads on these guns tend to be painful, the mag size averages that of a scout rifle rather than ar, and because its a 3 burst shot you burn through the ammo ridiculously fast.... The damage is low and it takes a full clip to kill lvl 30+ stuff, when you pair that with the awful reload there's just no bright side. Everytime I try to give praedyths time piece a chance it just disappoints me, and while red death's hp perk might be useful for crota you need to save the exotic slot for heavy or special to take down his shield.

6 RepliesI've been using bad juju on my lvl 28 lock in Roc strikes and it mows down adds like a beast. When I see a gaggle of thralls coming at me I just smile because it means my super is ready.

I'm not a fan of pulse rifles. I rock the Hand Cannon/Sniper combo most of the time. That said, for two of my alt chars I have Praedyths Timepiece, the Arc pulse rifle from VoG and I usually only equip it for Nightfall and Weekly Heroic, but recently I've been using it quite a bit. It's not too bad, and takes down captains and knight shields in a flash.

2 RepliesI rolled for the LONGEST time with a Silvered Continuum MSC from the Crucible before I finally received the Super Pox VLO from the Vanguard when I reached Rank 3, and I've used it to get through the VoG several times.

Edited by futurefry: 12/24/2014 8:55:36 AMthe issue with pulse rifles in relation to auto rifles is definitely damage output. although all your shots might not hit when spraying an auto rifle, often the clip size will offset your accuracy. with pulse rifles you are doing comparable damage at best with a smaller clip. regardless of your accuracy, the 3 round burst in conjunction with recoil is bound to miss a few hits. you don't have the luxury of a larger clip size to offset your accuracy and the reload time also stifles you. i enjoy using three little words but i would definitely be in a favor of a buff for pulse rifles. it's hard to make a case to use them.

Pulse rifles are my weapon of choice however they are not always best. Right now I'm rocking a coiled hiss. This is not a great rifle but it does exactly what all pulse rifles do well, with my favorite 30 round mag for easy to count off 10 bursts.
