Raid boss that can be put down with bullets

No fancy strategies, no relics, just bullets (and an occasional rocket or three). It doesn't make much sense to have your weakness 15m away from you anyways. I want end raid bosses that are difficult not because of the special strategies needed kill them. I want end raid bosses that are simply BADASS. Why does Atheon take more damage after we escape his oracles? Why does Crota take a knee when his shield goes down? Why is Crota impervious to bullets when his shield goes down? These don't make sense to begin with. Also, stop creating oversized versions of normal enemies to use as bosses. We want something a little more unique. Most unique boss was the mini-boss tank on mars. Also would like more NORMAL sized bosses that move around a lot. Kinda like Psion Flayers and Omnigul, but less annoying. Maybe w/o shields. EDIT: Alright. I get it. I was wrong to say I want an end raid boss that doesn't require strategy. But I would still like a boss that doesn't require a shield or sword to defeat. It undermines the concept of teamwork to have a guy on backburner to just hold the cleanse/shield, or for only the guy with the sword go to town hacking and slashing while everyone else is stuck on boomer duty. That isn't to say we shouldn't have assigned roles. But too much hinges on the shield/sword-bearer. Too much requires you to huddle together next to each other rather than achieving multiple angles of fire. And it still don't make sense for a boss to have his one weakness 15m from him.

  • Notice Crota seems incomplete in some way... Missing pieces of his body parts and he seems to be held together by his soul/spirit. My theory is that Crota's Shield most likely requires tons of spiritual energy to maintain so by downing his shield we essentially weaken him and leave him open for an attack. But only by damage of a similar nature to his... Meaning the swords, this is why he can only be harmed by the sword and not bullets. This would also possibly explain why we cannot regenerate health while he is present... simply because he is sapping "Spiritual Energy/Life Forces" from his surroundings. This... Makes him a extremely unique raid boss IMO.

    What people don't really know is that each raid has a backstory to it. The majority of what you do has a purpose. If you care to read the grimoire cards, you can piece together the background of the VoG one at least.

  • This is more or less what I hope they do with a cabal raid. No special tricks, no status effects, no magic. Just unrelenting force, incredibly dangerous enemies that are armed to the teeth and advanced battlefield AI that understands how to divide and conquer. A cabal raid should test your martial ability and tactics more than anything else.

    • I want to fight a wild deej. His weakness exercise, player must run in circles with deej chasing him. After a set time elapses the creature dies of heart failure.

        • If you try taking crota to a knee with bullets your relic guy is dead... you can only hurt crota with the relic when his shield is down... if you try to kill atheon with primaries only you will die on hard....

            • You're not wrong. But the bosses would all be bullet sponges. Maybe more dynamic maps, you know when a boss gets to this,certain amount of health, he changes modes, or changes the field. It can be done. Not only will that make the boss more lively, it'll make the while experience full instead of a repetitive strategy. And when you wipe, there wouldn't be a check point at,each stage of the boss, its all or nothing.

            • I Disagree. The different mechanics for the Raid bosses is what makes them special and fun to defeat. If you just want to shoot bullets sponges, keep repeating the boring and recycled bosses in the strikes...

              • What about a raid boss with 3 overshields (arc, solar and void). Take down the first shield and his second shield goes up. Take down the second and the third goes up. Taking down the last shield and you can damage it. But if the raid boss goes 1 second without taking damage, he will regen all his 3 shields.

                • I find it too much of a stretch away from realism and highly worn out to have these bosses that can take a massive attack and not be harmed. It's a cheesy thing to think of. Shouldn't be used too much. Killing shit with bullets is really the core if this game

Its called a raid boss because you need a team, you aren't going to need a team if all you do is "shoot bullets" like you've went through am hour long strike. 2. actually I do kind of agree the bosses need to be more unique, so you got me there. 3. still, asking for it to be to easy.
