Seriously Bungie, people don't want to do the Deathsinger on CE because it's pretty much useless. For people like me, that rely on the LFG sites, they know some groups just stop doing the raid when they reach the singers. For me personally, I've NEVER done singers before. Hell, I don't even know what the hell is the team suppose to do there (kill the deathsinger I believe?). The 2 times I've done CE, we reached Deathsingers and everyone on the team was like: "Hey anyone have Crota checkpoint?" *silence* "Okay then, nice raiding with you guys, bye" *everyone leaves the fireteam*. I even went to LFG to post that I have singers checkpoint but no one wanted to join, I waited 30 minutes, not a single soul wanted to do this checkpoint...
So that's all I'm asking bungie, I don't care if she doesn't drop armor, but make she drop 2 radiant materials
Edit: Some people aren't understanding the point. I never said it was too hard so it deserves a reward, I even said that I never even killed the singer. It doesn't matter how easy it is, but for some of us that don't have friends that play games, we just go to LFG sites, and some of those random people that we find just REFUSE to do deathsingers. So, it's pretty f*ucking easy and can be done in 5 minutes, right? Go talk to them, not to me.
Edit: NO GUYS, SHE WON'T DROP SHIT ON HARD MODE!! Can you get weapons from the maze or bridge? NO! Primary weapons will drop on crota only. It's on the app/site!! Only 3 drops on CE, and deathsinger isn't one of them!! It's not a glitch, is intentional, and if bungie ever says something like "Fixed a bug where players aren't receiving loot from Deathsinger", you can just call bullshit right away.

Agreed people just skip it. Add a drop if you have any brains in those heads of yours.

Daladek, I have responded previously with my counter argument however you said
Hell, I don't even know what the hell is the team suppose to do there
Okay the Deathsinger will begin a 2 minute song of death once the team is noticed. After two minutes she begins a liturgy that lasts 30 seconds after which everyone dies. To stop this timer the Deathsinger must be killed. The Deathsinger and two Wizards are behind unbreakable walls, the walls are wired to two shriekers both must be destroyed to bring down the walls. The shriekers are each tied to a wizard, when a wizard is killed that sides shrieker becomes vulnerable. Lure out the wizards on each side (a quick run in and out of the antechambers will do it) Kill the wizards Storm the two sides and kill the two shriekers Kill the Deathsinger (Solar) Kill the remaining adds in the Deathsinger room until the checkpoint clears. Kill Crota. This is the basic formula and doing it will get the result you want. As people become accustomed it will become faster and you should be able to knock this back in a minute. HOWEVER: This formula is not the actual answer to the puzzle. I have survived during this mission for 11 minutes without dying. The song can be managed, perhaps even avoided (templar no teleport, wink). There are clues throughout the previous sections that reveal more about this puzzle. Also her Grimoire card is part of the puzzle. As with VoG and the game as a whole finding the solutions to the puzzles unlock solutions to future puzzles. And unlocking these puzzles provide rewards. Or, as with anything there is the Brute Force method of getting the highest possible light level for the entire team getting the best possible weapons and just smashing everything. It works, it is part of the mechanic, it is a solution to the puzzle. RInse and repeat every week on every character after grinding for every possible advantage, cursing RNGesus the entire way. Or Cheese everything, find every loophole, max your gear like a vulture and only do the raid as pieces until the hard raid comes out and you have to feed off of other people's checkpoints like a parasite. Or Solo it like a freakin bad a$$ I know people have complained that because a person solo'd it the raid is garbage but really the mechanic for this raid is you have 4 options to complete. 1. Defeat the puzzle using the clues provided 2. Smash the puzzle 3. Feed off the success of others avoiding the puzzle 4. Be AWESOME and do whatever the heck you want solo. I am on PS3, if you are as well and ever want to solve the puzzle I am willing. Regardless of rewards the practice is enough incentive for me as long as it is not during Iron Banner or other event that I might be focusing on.

I always did the confluxes in the vault & will most likely always skip the Deathsingers. I've beaten it once, no need to waste time doing it again. The difference between those two no drops is that the confluxes is the first part of the vault & I use it to warm up my skills. If I can solo one side, then I can handle anything else in there.

TL;DR But I give a thumbs-up for the title's idea.

Edited by ll Pheature ll: 12/22/2014 7:55:47 PMfyi if you beat her the drops on crota are better. Rite listen. A lot of you say otherwise so I guess what I said is wrong. So keep by passin it then

I am going to go with a disagree on this. I get what you are saying and in a better world I would 100% agree with you however that is not this world and this apparent mistake on Bungie's part is a really good thing for people like me so I hope they keep it. Consider what the basically free chest at the beginning and the absence of rewards during the Deathsinger will mean long term. There will be a massive group of players who cannot defeat the raid. Sure they have some nice gear thanks to a free chest AND they can do other parts of the raid absolutely. But the one part that many consider the most difficult is a part they are not practicing. The hard raid will eat them alive. The only people who will have Crota checkpoints are going to be people who can actually do the Raid. And I doubt those people will be handing them out like Candy during the Hard Raid. The Deathsinger has a 2 minute timer, after 2 minutes there is 30 seconds to kill the Deathsinger. The Deathsinger level takes less than 150 seconds, it takes less time to kill the Deathsinger than it takes to go to orbit, swap fireteam leaders and go back for the Crota checkpoint. The reward for completing the Deathsinger: You will be able to do the Hard Raid. Finally and most importantly, the Deathsinger is a puzzle. No one has solved the puzzle to my knowledge therefore no one knows if their are actual rewards or not.

Ive done it, not hard if at least one has the jellyhorn (i dont). I gg one side while dude jellied the other side. Deathsinger herself went down pretty quick
-
Me and my team do it once to earn our own CP for our alt characters every week, it is easy if you know what to do and it is pointless unfortunately, I also believe there should be atleast a radiant drop
-
You aren't kidding man. I've only beaten the Deathsinger one time and it was because I literally refused to go any further with the group until they beat it lol had to make sure they were worthy enough. Anyone can skip the other checkpoints with a cheese. Seems that the only legit part of the raid is the part nobody wants to do.
-
It's stuff like this that really makes me glad I've got a devoted regular raid team. I really feel for you guys who end up like the op stuck at ir yut because your other randoms want to skip checkpoints and essentially make everyone find new groups just to finish something that can infact be done in under 5 minutes. My team and I agree tho that there should be some kind of reward for this phase. There's no reason that a NAMED mob in the game should not drop loot (minus Randal). The encounter itself feels like it was designed to have loot in it for that matter.
-
Haven't done the deathsinger yet. My friend who has completed the raid said that DS was easily the hardest part of the raid, and there needs to be at least SOMETHING for the DS to drop.
-
What? Bungie -blam!-ed up? Big surprise there.
-
Amen.
-
look bro ive been through the entire raid from start to finish three times and honestly I find deathsingers the hardest part and that comes from a guy with a maxed out gjallarhorn 2.0 and a fireteem with two more maxed out gjallarhorns so I agree that u should get rewards u get rewards

Deathsinger is definitely more of a pain than Crota. It'd be nice if she dropped something.
-
Just materials will be fine for me

Bump. Yeah Deathsinger is more of a pain than crota. She should atleast give shards...
