The average medication takes ten-twelve years and millions, if not billions of dollars to develop to make sure it works correctly and is safe for patients to use. Sorry, but after a billion dollar investment to develop Concerta specifically to help children, we A) didn't waste all that time and money just so it "won't work" and B) aren't giving this stuff away for nothing. We want to help people, but researchers worked hard and dedicated years of their lives to make these medicines. They deserve to be paid fairly for their work.

  • But the company's love money and pay off the fda....and also pay doctor to give it out..also most kids don't need pills...kids are always hyper and don't pay attention ..but if your an adult and that happens then that's the ones that need drugs/pills...

  • They are a company. Yes, they want to make money, but they do that by making the safest and most effective drug out there. You are right that ADHD is horribly over-diagnosed. Sometimes kids are just hyper. But ADHD is still a real disorder and for some of those kids, they really do need medication in order to focus. I was one of them. I was a hyper little banshee and then my doctor put me on Concerta. My grades shot up, I made honor roll, I was able to jump to the top of my class, and I got into med school. So forgive me for not believing that these doctors are "just in it for the money" or the drugs "don't work"...
