I'm only commenting about the raid level armor. I have had this game since day one and have yet to have had the opportunity to play a raid. Literally I've spent hours trying to get a fire team together to no avail, like a ugly as a dog's ass red headed stepchild, not been able to get a raid going. So while your complaining about feeling like your effort is wasted, I for one haven't even had a chance to try. So I appreciate the fact that I can at least 'keep up' with those who have. Not all of us are newbs just going for the shortcut as you seem to think.

I really hope you get to join a fireteam for the raid - it can by the most fun you can have in a video game. It can also be as infuriating as hell if nobody has a clue what they are doing. I fully expected, and hoped, that Bungie would implement a mechanism allowing players who don't raid (for whatever reason) or those frigged over by the RNG to get to level 30. I like the idea that the 'best of the best' Guardians (be that at PvE in the Raid or PvP in the Iron Banner) would be one level above everyone else. But the implementation at the end of it was terrible. And as somebody else posted here - All level 30's of the same class before the DLC (and 32's after it) look the same (well the same as two variants) because there was exactly ONE armour set for each class from VoG and ONE for each class from Iron Banner. And let's say you had VoG gear that had the perfect mix of stats (Intelligence, Strength, Discipline) for you. Chances are that you won't get these stats on your Crota gear. We can buy gear from the Vanguard with the right mix of stats (and gear that we think suits the look of our character distinct from everyone else) and get up to one level below the current max level. What Bungie should have done is implemented a system to allow us to upgrade the light level of our favourite armour - be that through Raid, Iron Banner rewards, or Weekly Herioc/Nightfall rewards. So when the DLC came out - all Bungie would need to do is bump the max light level and we could grind the extra 2 levels out of our armour. Same applies for weapons. I LOVE my Fatebringer. Sure it still holds it's own with tDB, but by HoW it will be 20% less effective than the HoW hand cannon. What if I absolutely hate the HoW hand cannon? Tough luck. The fact that we have to pretty much throw EVERYTHING out and start again to get the with the release of each DLC is what irks me the most. Having new players 'shortcut' is not even remotely a problem for me.

I agree, but it is wrong to reward the new comers and make the loyalists redo all their gear.

Edited by Calris: 12/22/2014 5:46:50 AMIt's a very tricky balancing act. You want more people to play your game (new gamers = new money) but you don't want to piss of your exiting player base (pissed off players = no sales of next game). Destiny is still well and truly in the 'Honeymoon' phase and with Christmas just around the corner, the honeymoon will continue for a few more months. Bungie are fast running out of time to get things stabilised. If we, the players, are still highlighting issues in February, I think Destiny could very well collapse into a 'what, you still play that?' kind of game.

Agreed. It's better to keep a loyal customer than to lose him and pay to find a new one.

If you can wait the day before reset, my guys would be able to help you on VoG and Crota if you'd like! Shoot me a friend request and we'll make it happen :)
