Both the jury of public opinion and industry critics are agreeing that the xpac is found wanting and is recycled crap for the most part, with the raid being the only real highlight. Certainly not worth the price charged compared to other games xpac content.
Deej... The silence is deafening in here, and no I don't count your "The one about xyz" bullshit as even coming close to something that addresses our concerns.
Are we going to even get a "we hear / heard you" fluff statement this time around or are you guys giving up that angle? Because clearly you haven't heard much of what the player base has been saying.
I know you are one guy playing mediator between us and your development people, but honestly I as well as many others, think it's time to come clean and stop the shining on and fluff statements that amount to nothing. Are you guys going to produce or not?
I, like many others can see HUGE potential in his game if only you guys would reinvest your resources and time into making it the great game we can see under this layer of shit you are currently putting out.

I feel the expansions have already been completed and won't fix any issues we have now. Proof is in TDB, where we were promised a more immersive story but all we got was a few missions from Eris telling us to do the same thing we've been doing.
Our next update will drop in January. It hopefully includes some stuff you've been asking us for. Expect details soon after the holidays.
This is the part of the "end of year" message that has been bugging me. Do they just really have no clue what we want? Have we really not made enough threads articulating in every conceivable manner how ActiBungie could drastically improve this game? Did the PR guy just let it slip that the people above him and on the Dev teams really don't give two shits what we want? They're just going to do stuff and hope some of it is what we were asking for? That whole quote just makes my stomach churn...

Indignation is amusing.

Just Gonna Leave this Here... http://kotaku.com/destiny-review-update-four-months-later-1678011068/all Before anyone jumps to any conclusions when you see the "Should you Play this Game" answer of "Yes"... Please read the entire article (and if you are feeling especially motivated... the comments at the bottom) The writer pretty much sums up most of the communities concerns and what / why many of those still playing are playing for.

Gamers paid Billions of Dollars... but they have 1 guy listening to millions of people. Use you head man. They dont givafruck

Edited by rg37s: 12/20/2014 4:24:28 AMIf that "end of the year update" that got posted is the "cool stuff" Deejs deleted Twitter post was alluding to, then I just have no words. Number crunching to tell us stats no one gives a shit about??? How about fix the game and listen to your community...
-
me thinks the dlcs have been completed projects for a long time now and there are no changes coming. even though there are issues they arent going to make any changes to HoW

That weekly update was by far the most efficient way of telling community "We are not listening" I can think of. This game is all wrapped up OP. It sucks that Bungie lied and told everyone that this game had any kind of future plans because it doesn't. If you don't like it how it is now, my only advice is to get cozy with being pissed every other week. They literally just went on vacation without replying to a handful of accusations thrown at them by popular journalists and half of their forum community. If that doesn't tell you they don't give a -blam!-, I don't know what will.

Edited by DiGiDaWG: 12/20/2014 6:55:05 PMI see 343 have decided to give odst away for free with the mc collection to say sorry. Perhaps Bungie could unlock another planet / use the reef or even give us matchmaking for the weekly and nightfall.
and monkeys might fly out of my butt. They don't even admit there are problems.
DeeJ is PR, he does what PR guys do. I don't see anything abnormal in his posts. It's all about: Staying in your lane, don't talk about things that you aren't in control of or know about, don't speculate. Don't make promises. Don't release information until something is guaranteed. Which is why they don't say what's the patches are until after they're released. Hinting at future updates is ok, so long as you are super vague, so no one can accuse you of making promises. Respond to positive things only. Defending negatives only invites more negatives. Seriously, this is day one PR stuff. Don't hate DeeJ, hate PR.

Well said

Part of the cost is maintenance in lieu of a monthly fee. Most reviewers these days are myopic idiots that try to make science out of opinion to make their work seem more official or professional. How many of these poor reviews factored in no monthly fee when commenting on the cost vs content of the dlc?

Edited by Oliverq_: 12/20/2014 11:12:40 PMDude they aren't listening.. either that or they don't care until they come back from a holiday break over Christmas/NYE However... I am curious as to what January's update is going to be...
Our next update will drop in January. It hopefully includes some stuff you've been asking us for. Expect details soon after the holidays.
I agree with you with the potential.. Even the initial prologue as a different feel to it...

No raid matchmaking = poor and irresponsible game design = bad reviews

Dude, it's over. Bungie will not make this pre alpha any better. They used tricks and traps at every corner in this game so we HAVE to play hours and hours to do anything. That is yet another trap. The developers don't want to fix this crap game because "they're doing something right" apparently because we play so much. Like I said, you HAVE TO PLAY A LOT. This game is crap. The only reason I play it is because my friends online still play it, and nothing good came out recently. Yeah, Dragon Age, Shadow of GOTY, Far Cry 3.5, those are probably really good games, but not for me. I don't like games where you play the campaign and set them down.
-
I think i'm doing it wrong. I'm enjoying the game?
-
I don't disagree with you about a widely unpopular public opinion - I want to point out to everyone that might come across my reply that even though I may not be super thrilled about the game as a whole right now, the forums on this website are pretty acidic. The Destiny reddit page is a lot more pleasant of a place to be, liking the game or not. So if you're someone who wants more peaceful discussion rather than all caps yelling, then...
-
Bump and agreed. Bungie - why you make game so incomplete?
-
Bump. Do your job Deej. You should be spending at least an hour a day on these forums. Responding to real questions not just cherry picking responses.
-
Beyond great. Even possibly epic. Bungie CAN do this. I know their power. I have a suspicion that they're building up a HUGE amount of expansion work that will be gigs worth; so much content that all your friends will be doing different stuff and it will take you weeks to really know everything that they put in the game. Or they've given up.
-
Yes. Please fix the things like optional matchmaking for raids and not locking non-DLCers out of their events sometimes.

Edited by Dismal Trauma: 12/20/2014 11:45:00 AMPretty much. This entire forum has been treated like a deceptive and meaningless suggestion box, to be dumped out into the trash every time it gets full and ignored without a single iota being read or taken to heart. That's all this feedback forum is. A decoy to make us think we're being heard. A big giant suggestion box.
-
The one about no raid matchmaking
-
This is strongly worded but then again I am a fanboy. I just think that they're trying but it will almost never be enough. A lot more listening is needed, see my post on feedback for more.
-
Yup They didn't even mention it

Edited by to0N: 12/19/2014 8:28:54 PMDo you guys actually think they hold a power point presentation in a conference room at bungie HQ discussing our dislikes about the game? Really? What is the percentage of user complaints in these forums compared to the number of people buying and downloading additional content? I believe we are just a spec on the wall, a silent fart in the room.
