Hear that Deej, Bungie... That silence is the sound of shrinking market share. I can only assume investors are already jumping ship. If that happens, or is happening, what happens to that $500 mil budget dedicated to the Destiny franchise.
I guess the angry voices do indeed outweigh the fandoys you were hoping could save a sinking ship.
Edit: So I've sat back after posting this to watch the waters churn. I'm impressed with the feedback, but I'm not shocked this thread got a lot of attention, positive or negative. People can bash me, the article, or the game as much as they like...point is, I didn't post it to start an argument! I posted it more or less as PSA...in the hopes the attention this thread MIGHT receive gains the attention of someone we've ALL been longing to hear from. Keep the chatter"white" coming y'all.

Wow some people are a bunch of whiny bitches, if you don't like the game then don't play it... Simple enough, don't come on here spilling your life story moaning and telling everyone how the game should of been. I guarantee you'll all still play it. You won't be missed

You can't spell ignorant without ign. There reviews always side with popularity
-
Not sure I would call it slams. Calls it as it is though. Lack of content for an expansion.

Edited by VoodooN88: 12/19/2014 5:12:36 PMGlad I didn't purchase the uber game version, glad I got the version w some extras and the first 2 exp on the cheap. Cause I would have been dissapointed. So I am at peace with it now... But future expansions were I have to pay more, I'm going to want something that expands on the free roaming that I read into destiny before it came out. I want to go exploring, not grinding the same areas over and over. Put that worthless rng to use, make it create random areas! Anyway, I agree with the review, maybe the score is a little harsh, but I'm ok with things for now. The next exp is going to be huge in deciding if I spend more on it.

IGN isn't even a good gaming channel/site. I could do a dank ton better reviewing and scoring games.

Edited by Toonstrack: 12/19/2014 5:06:45 PMIGN's reviews are some of the most biased, unprofessional and just poorly-done reviews I've seen for such a company, and its not just for there games. They often contradict themselves, make statements that simply don't make any kind of sense, and it has become pretty apparent that many of their reviews are paid for by the developer. If you read and/or watch IGN, then you know that at least two workers there play Destiny very often and post videos of their gameplay on a more-than-weekly basis. Not too long ago, a video was released from IGN discussing why they love the 1.1 Patch. So yea, this review means pretty little to me. Also, the fact that you described IGN as "slamming" TDB and Destiny, when the game itself got a 7.8 and TDB got a 6, both of which are on the positive side, is dishonest and actually pretty similar to the clickbait titles IGN uses on their articles.

"Let’s get this right out of the way: the new raid, Crota’s End, is the best, and perhaps only reason to purchase The Dark Below." This is what makes me laugh. To be quite honest, I think the best part of the expansion was the Week 1 Omnigul nightfall. Damn, that was rough. And fun. Far better than CE, which is a joke. I much prefer VoG to CE in terms of raiding enjoyment. Hell, the only part of CE I really enjoy is the beginning stage with the massive number of thralls. I'd even be willing to say that the legendary Sparrow is a better reason to buy the expansion than CE. Not to mention, the CE gear is so raid-specific, it's hardly worth wearing aside from its obvious level boost. Either way, while Destiny may have flaws, in my view, it's far better than most other games available, and it's got me hooked, along with countless others. That's got to count for something, I would imagine.

it's sad that you see an opinion and view it as truth. IGN is a puppet

Edited by Sneakler: 12/19/2014 3:46:40 PMGosh it is hilarious that you think 50-100 upvotes on your thread and an IGN article by a man-child wannabe hackjob journalist means that the cyrbabies outweigh the people who enjoy this game that you refer to as fanDOYS lol. You are a criticism lemming that loves to cry and complain and start a post with "HEAR THAT DEEJ" as if he is concerned with market shares and your mind-numbing opinion. If you had another game that was so much fun to be playing, you wouldn't be whining it up and achieving ultimate man-child status right here in front of our eyes.

Edited by lazEbonez: 12/19/2014 5:17:13 PMIGN gives COD great scores time and time again. The only reason IGN even reviewed the expansion is because any article about Destiny gets a ridiculous amount of traffic (which = $) because it is so popular.. good or bad. I'm not saying Destiny can't do wrong, I have issues with parts of the game.. but think about this: with TDB dlc we get 3 story missions, 2 new strikes (well ps at least), new raid, 3 mp maps, new gear/weapons, and a new vendor w/bounties. What does COD give you for the same price? 4 mp maps, sometimes a gun.

The one true thing that seriously pisses me off is that Deej doesn't fcuking reply to anything. Is he seriously the only one who speaks for Bungie?! There should be more than one person because seriously this dude rarely posts or replies to anything. It's like Bungie made this game and just left it here for us to play without bothering to even acknowledge what we post about in the threads. I would honestly not have a problem if SOMEONE from Bungie just said "we know our game sucks, we're seriously working on it" because then at least we know they're trying to do something about it and they ACKNOWLEDGED the situation. But right now it's like they don't care. And I really really like Destiny too and so do my friends.
-
Yes you did post it to start an argument. Your argument is that because of negative reviews they are losing market share and investors are jumping ship. Where's your proof? Destiny 2 is in development. Counterpoint perhaps. Your emotion is trumping your logic. Until sales figures and hours logged online numbers are released, your point is only possibly valid. These are facts.

Someone from bungie needs to see this
-
To be honest, they should have go Alfredo to review it. The guy they got to review TDB stopped playing destiny after he beat the campaign, and never played the VOG. And his experience of the Crotas end raid was being ran through it by raid veterans. He has a shallow outsiders view of the game, and never really experienced the content properly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but from a reviewers standpoint this review is simply not accurate.

So much salt, even Morton is like "Dayum".

Well you read it and must agree. Have fun with whatever game you choose to play next.

I still have a lot of fun playing this game. Because after all, it is just that, a game. If you can't find a way to have fun playing it, then just simply stop. Nobody cares about anyone's opinion, because the only opinion that matters is your own. I have numerous friends who also enjoy playing, if for no other reason than to play together. Every game has issues, but at the end of the day, if you can find a way to have fun playing it, then play on.

Meh, I doubt any game is getting played as much as Destiny and Bungie/Activision is still making a ton of money off of it... It's a fun game that has a lot of room for improvement so we'll see how much they learn from this first go. Really the game is on the verge of being great if they simply make a few changes going into the next one. A little more variety in gear, implement an actual story and the franchise is probably set. Many of those who read the grimore are already impressed with their story-telling abilities. Just show us a little more instead of simply telling us everything on cards. Maybe some unlockable cutscenes (that you can play at your leisure), a museum for past guardian exploits, being able to talk to NPCs at the tower, how about a search for a fallen legendary guardian except with random spawn locations more like a chest than appearing in same spot every time. How about some more long, drawn out quests rather than couple hour exotic bounties? Maybe class items that give the user an aura or something? Oh, and if they create a system where I can buy a business or something to generate income too. It doesn't need to be complicated (maybe a merchant minigame that I can play from an app kinda like assassin's creed black flag). So many possibilities . I'm actually excited to see how much they learn from this game. They have to know that they're pretty close if so many people are taking the time to criticize the game. Just a few improvements would go a long ways... Or maybe they'll just keep it the same and miss out on some incredible profits. The only issue I see is that I already play the game too much. Maybe they should keep it as it is so I don't have withdrawals when I don't play for a week. Oh, and the tower really needs a bar/dance club. How can you include dancing but not include a place for guardians to relax are a long day of fighting in every corner of the solar system?... By far the biggest mistake on Bungie's part.
-
Lol reviewer doesn't realize you can buy raid gear upgrades with and eris rep of 4 I'm pretty sure. So the raid isn't the only way to get new mats
-
ouch.....
-
That rating is too high, Bungie bribed IGN to give them a rating that high...
-
LOL...who cares about IGN?
-
-
Blah blah...don't care...love the game and can't stop playing it.
-
Game cant be that bad. You are still playing it.
