Bungie can't ban people for putting out a busted ass product. Program the game correctly and this shit doesn't happen. You can't ban someone because of your failure ffs. Then again this game is tanking harder than the Titanic and I imagine Bungie is losing or has lost all of its quality staff as this business rewards talent and they're making it plain with this game they have none left.

  • Banned people for doing ammo glitch in the crucible. That was bungies fault yet...

  • No it wasn't as you had to go outside the game and cause it to happen by manipulating the console's time/date.

  • Then that makes total sense :)

  • While I don't agree with Bungie for banning people for taking advantage of any fault in their own application, I can see why they would do this. Having an advantage over another player that's clearly an exploit and that breaks the experience for said other player is something Bungie has to take action on. Banning is taking it far, temporary suspension may have made more sense but perhaps they wanted to send a strong message. Banning people for participating in and exploiting glitches/bugs in content that will have zero impact on any other player's experience whatsoever? Yeah, they're never going to do that. The bug is their fault, just like the bug with Atheon that existed for over a month and the bug with the Templar that wasn't fixed until two weeks ago. Rest assured, no one is going to get banned for glitching Crota.

  • I could see the argument that them easily getting high grade weapons and armor could break the experience when taken to the crucible. But if they can't do the raid legit their skills may still not be enough. I really don't care either way. Certainly not disagreeing or anything. A ban would be too much. Especially if you didn't know they were going to do it. MAYBE just take away the loot and suspend temporarily?

  • Weapons and armor are equalized in the Crucible so that argument really holds no weight. At best you could make an argument for the IB being affected, something that comes around once every month to six weeks and that probably wouldn't really be impacted at all. The Crucible comes down to player skill and no amount of 'free weapons and armor' will sway that. I really think if Bungie didn't want players to bug Crota they should have fixed Crota before they released Crota. Again it's no different than Atheon or Templar. Did you push either of them off the ledge when doing VoG? Even once? If so, you've just 'exploited a bug' or 'glitched' the game for 'free' loot. Should you have yours taken away? No, this situation is no different than those, people are just getting butthurt because others are getting loot faster than them because TDB is still a 'new release' (and it pains me to even call it that, seriously what a joke of a DLC). The jealousy over virtual items that don't affect your game experience one way or the other (there's no trading, there's no economy, there's no incentive or detriment if someone has something you don't) is honestly something I'm never going to understand. :)

  • Hey I don't get it either, the desire to be the ony one with an item. And again I was just mentioning an argument that could possibly be said against it. Personally I think you'd want every one with good loot to help you when teamed up!

  • On both of these points, we agree, and I'm glad for that. Cheers. :)

  • And yeah once I was on a team that pushed him off. Wasn't really what I wanted to do but I was just added on as a random cause they needed one more. So my 'that's no fun' didn't hold much weight :)

  • Said the Mac Donald's worker. My brother does coding it's not as easy as you might think. Have a lil more respect.

  • And I'm sure your brother writes quality code. However, Bungie wrote less than quality code in some cases, judging from the number of bugs in the Vault of Glass. This not an insult, just an observation. Respect or lack thereof has nothing to do with it.

'Mac Donald's?' You meant 'McDonald's.' Also your brother is what's known as a 'developer,' he doesn't 'do coding' he 'writes code' for a living. I dabble (very lightly) in writing code myself for my profession and know plenty of developers. Bug testing is simple when you put in effort.

  • The idea stats the same. You can't tell what the game is gonna do when thousands of players stress it. You can have the best team in the world testing. The real test is always after. You can't replicate thousands of players and their behavior. I think destiny is pretty solid compared to other publishers releases. EA, ubi etc.

  • Yes you can. Source: Games that don't release broken bullshit content. Stop repeatedly making excuses for getting the shaft. Why are you defending Bungie? There's no logical reason to do so when they continue to -blam!- us with shady business practices, poorly implemented content and zero response to the backlash.

  • No we didn't, this is the progression of our conversation. OP: Bungie should ban people for exploiting Crota bugs! Me: No they shouldn't, they shouldn't release a busted ass game. You: Says the Mac Donald's employee! Coding is le hard! Me: I know development. It's not as hard as you think if you do it right. You: It's hard to release a game without bugs! Me: No it isn't. Source: Games release without shitty bugs all the time. So, in short, you started out by personally insulting me, followed up with an inane argument about 'coding being hard' and now that you've utterly lost in all respects you're back peddling and trying to say I derailed the conversation. You seem like a real winner. REKT.
