There nothing wrong with the game. It random and the chances are just not in your favor.
You got 40%-50% chance to get a shard same goes for energy's.

my guess is they are observing what a player needs, and dramatically decreasing the possibility of getting that material so that the player keeps playing

I did the math (obviously since I have a degree in math, I couldn't help it...) assuming it's a 50/50 chance to get ascendant material from a daily heroic and a 1/3 chance from a comm. event (since you can get strange coins, too) and assuming I did 8 of each since the DB came out (which sounds reasonable since I've been playing every day), it's about 0 .00006% of never getting ascendant shards. Now consider that two people had the same experience, that's .00006^2, or .000000000035% chance that two people wouldn't get ascendant material from a week's worth of playing. That's so unlikely, there must be another factor.

You correct in the math and i would most likely have the same answer.The % I gave was for a simple answer that common in events,chest,etc and the mean focus are the shards and energy. That a 50/50 but as you know this game rip people off so I consider a 10% loss in your 50%. A 50% is like you got a chance get what you want but a equal chance you won't.(doesn't feel like you do huh) A 40% is like you got a chance get what you want but with a slight chance you wont (that the one most feel like) You are just getting the 40% drop.
