How else are you going to get to level 32? They HAD to make new gear to add more light. If you didn't know that then you don't deserve to play games anyway.

I believe his point is that it is too easy to get the new gear that levels to 31 NOT that expansions shouldn't have upgraded gear. It is ridiculous that people spend dozens of hours doing VoG for lvl 30 gear and within a blink of an eye, Johnny Nobody can purchase destiny and within days BUY lvl 31 gear. Thus making every persons work before him completely wasted. Yes, MMOs constantly add in new high level gear with expansions but they typically require the previous high level gear to obtain it.

But it's ugly 31 gear. lol. I'm still using my VoG chest piece and bought the boots from the vanguard. Got the gloves from Eris bounty and a new apotheosis helmet and I'm level 31. I'm not wearing that chest piece that looks like it's torn and dirty from the vanguard. Hopefully Xur sells a good exotic chest piece for the warlock this time.
