Have you never played WoW where the end gear gets thrown out for something better in the very first quest of a new expansion?

I get your point, I really do. But what is the time frame between expansions for WoW, 1, 2, 3 years on some? This DLC dropped 3 months after game release. So in my opinion, comparing the DLCs for WoW and Destiny isn't a fair comparison at all. I think the people asking for these older items to be updated is a decent request since we are only 3 months in. Now, come the next expansion, if they want to phase out the VoG gear then so be it. We could update the Crotas gear instead.

I have never played WoW but from everything I have read you always used the last Raid Gear to get through the next WoW raid or event and get the "new" best gear. Destiny made the VoG obsolete by making the regular gear you could buy better than the VoG Raid gear you collected.
