[BUNGIE] For those concerned about region mismatch between their copy of Destiny and their PSN account

Greetings all, We are aware that a number of players are hitting region-related issues with accessing The Dark Below on their PlayStation systems. As the holiday shopping season is upon us, we want to clarify these region mismatches before you purchase a copy of Destiny that has a different region from what you use on your PSN account. Here are some suggestions for how to make the PlayStation infrastructure work for you, no matter where you are. [b]Please note[/b]: This does not affect Xbox players. [b]Key points:[/b] The region for the disc and the new Destiny content must be the same The region for store purchases is determined by the account [b]Official Solution:[/b] Obtain a disc in the same region as your primary account [b]Unsupported Alternative:[/b] Results may vary. 1. Make all purchases from the same region as your disc 2. Create a [i]proxy account[/i] in that region 3. Add a valid payment instrument to this proxy account: -Credit card -PlayStation Store gift cards from the same region 4. Purchase Destiny content on your proxy account 5. Play Destiny content on your primary account and system If you have already purchased your Expansion in the wrong region, we can only recommend that you contact Sony Customer Support to discuss your options with them. To anyone else stuck with this problem simply return the game and buy a cheaper traded one. This condition was NOT stated on the original game condition and thus you are in your right to request a full refund or credit. If the store refuses contact your credit card company and cancel the payment. If you paid by cash then bungie has you by the balls, simple. This is not the first time bungie has refused to honor conditions of sale, and they have publicly admitted the error related to the wording of the bonus availability. These are your rights to claim. Bungies ideas of a "[i]Solution[/i]" is simply wrong.

    • @BNGHelp4 please make it clear next time. I have spent US35 for expansion pass and I discover 4 days later that I cant use it because of region locking.

    • BUT THIS STILL DOESN'T EXPLAIN WHY PEOPLE LIKE ME, WHO BOUGHT BOTH THE GAME AND DLC FROM THE SAME PSN STORE CAN'T ACCESS THE DLC IN GAME! I swear to god Bungie needs proper customer support, I'd be less upset if I knew they've heard my issue. Instead here I am yelling about it on a forum.

      • This would have been fine if we were given this information about region locking in the store before attempting a purchase. In my eyes you are just as much to blame as Sony. Having a clear statement on the overview that is written on the psn store would have been helpful. I know that this happens on the ps3 store because I had a similar issue with another game for that console. That's how I know I should read the overviews. But there was no such warning or statement on the ps4 store for The Dark Below so it stands to reason for me to assume it wouldn't be the case that the dlc was region locked.

Bungie hasn't said anything about that...

          • Hi I just got ban on ps4, wasted about three months and never modded, if bungie can prove that I ever modded that account am ready to go to jail even for this. I got banned and lots of people getting banned for doing nothing , the worst thing is they have no customer support . Please bungie after making such a awesome game, why are ruining everything for people like me who are getting banned without reason. I bought game first than I bought dlc, I even been so loyal to this game that I made like 5 of my friends to buy this game and play with me. Please listen to my plea and unban me or at least someone should contact back , they like we banned and we are right you are wrong, at least investigate, u are punishing loyal and innocent

            • So...good luck with that as Sonys policy is no refunds of any kind from purchasing on the store. Basically 'Buyer Beware'. There are isolated cases of refunds (I was one buying Child of Light for PS3 when I found out there was a PS4 version) but they said there was a note on my account now and that would be my only refund. No idea why they're such douches about it but it's not as easy as just going to ask Sony for help.
