I just got it as well. I had the black wax idol buff on and I killed a wizard on the moon

It's been confirmed black wax dolls do nothing, and that's weird you got it from a wizard it's supposta drop from. Blades of Crota though maybe it's just a higher chance to drop from them and a low chance to drop for any other hive.
