The ogres appear after the 2nd swordbearer is downed I thought... Been like that every time I've done it.

Right. This is true. I guess the timers are based on getting the swordbearers down at the typical time. You could leave one swordbearer up and never see ogres. But if you down them at the typical time, it will be as I stated above (I think his rotations denote when the spawns will come? That's why they seem to line up the same way).
