"Exotic upgrade paths require much less time and material" is a half truth

Anyone else feel that it was a half truth when Deej wrote this about the Exotic upgrades. It does require less materials, however I have notice no difference in the amount of time it takes to upgrade an exotic. But hey what was I expecting..... Edit 1; I would love to see some numbers from Bungie or a clarification on their definition of "Much Less" Edit 2; So seems that some people, along me, misinterpreted "Much less time" as less XP. Seems that Bungies concept of this, is that will take less time leveling them up due to; gathing planet resources is much easier, and removal of ascendant materials. I wish they would have stated this better rather than a blanket "Much less time" comment.

  • On the suros 2.0, I did the xp from the daily (7500 xp), a public event (xp ?), 7 bounties (27500 xp), all with the nightfall bonus (+22% xp), and an auto rifle telemetry in effect (xp x 2?). All those combined was enough to fill 1 1/4 damage bubbles. To me, it's the exact same amount of xp to level, and I actually leveled a suros 1.0 in 2 days on one character (pre patch/dlc). This time (post DLC), I rotated the suros across 3 characters doing the Daily, pubs, and all vanguard bounties. It still took me two days. No where did bunjie say that the version 2.0 of original exotics require less xp to level than their 1.0 version. They stated that there were "more paths" to exotics (different ways to aquire them). They also stated it would be "easier" to level exotics. By "easier", I believe they are referring to the change in patch 1.0.3 that removes the need for acsendant materials as well as being able to aquire materials without farming. Too many people jumped to the conclusion/made the assumption that "easier" meant less xp. To prove me wrong, I challenge someone to apply the exact same bounties on a fresh ver 1.0 AND 2.0 of the same exotic to see what happens.
