What does the GUNSMITH do? Because i haven't bought a gun from him since i hit lvl 16.

I've never bought a gun from him ever. I never really understood the gunsmiths he's more useless than Marcus' vending machines in borderlands, at least his guns level with you.

Heavy weapon synthesis is pretty much all Banshee's good for after 20. It's a little expensive, but being able to refill right before the big bossfight is worth it.
