There definitely is some sort of damage difference for bladedancers. When im the hunter it doesn't seem like it but when im my warlock fighting a bladedancer i definitely notice a difference in damage taken. A shotgun shot and a melee always always kills everyone for me, but never never a bladedancer.

I've gotten killed from a shotgun shot at full health. I do know that there is a slight damage resistance but it really not enough to make a difference in a super that is meant to be in people's faces.
