Today I lost my grandfather, he had been fighting cancer and dementia for a long time and over the last few weeks he had taken a turn for the worse.
I was visiting him in the hospital when he died, he didn't know who I was and he didn't know where he was. He quiets down and I thought he had fallen asleep, until I noticed his eyes were half open. I called the doctors and they came in and confirmed my fears.
He was gone.
The worst part was how little was left to him. He used to be strong and tall, now he looked like a concentration camp victim.
While I'm filled with grief, I'm also terrified, what if this happens to me?
My parents are both struggling as well and I don't feel like I have anyone to talk to.

Edited by Rhulk's Thunder Thighs: 12/15/2014 12:20:00 PMIm sorry about this mate.I hope you stay strong and dont crumble to this, there are obstacles in your life and never give up hope when times are tough. It will only get worse if you fall to depression, keep your head up high and you can make it through this obstacle. Do things that make you happy,talking/hanging out wuth buds or maybe even have a chat with that special someone. You got this mate :)

Sorry to hear that mate. Im sure he's resting well and will be thankful that he had someone there with him, I work in the medical field and can't begin to explain how much that alone would mean. On an aside; If you're worried about that sorta thing happening to you, you can create whats called a "Living Will" or "End of Life Care Plan" This is different from an NFR/DNR (Do Not Resuscitate), and i'm not even 30 and I have one with tons of possble situations.
