You have got to be kidding me. So all the work I put into my gear is literally useless then?????

Yes? That's how games with expansions work. New expansion equals new level cap, which means acquiring new gear.

Hahahha go play some mmo's. At the very least the highest defence I can get with the exact same piece of armour should go up. MMO's don't punish you for having the exact same armour after an expansion.

Are you kidding? Any MMO that increases the level cap, replaces your awesome raid gear in like 3 hours of playing the new expansion with some 'shitty' common items. Bungie actually has a system in place to carry our exotics with us and you're still going to complain about having to buy new armor and weapons?
