Will you buy Destiny 2? - discussion.

well will you? based on the way they've treated the franchise and it's userbase thus far..... please state why or why not. let's all have a healthy discussion about this game and it's future...we get to decide it after all....we'll talk with our wallets!! personally i am done with this franchise after House of Wolves comes out.....never have i ever been so disappointed in a game as i have been with Destiny. and what makes it worse is the sheer lack of content and lack of variety in the little content we did receive. everyday we play over the same missions and bounties, and the DLC has not lessened that monotony. any other game that would hve shipped with the little content that Destiny had shipped with, would have been ridiculed by the press. but wonders never cease in the gaming industry. Destiny short-changed us plain and simple. discuss....

  • It better come with all of destiny one and the comet I am not paying for. And include all the missions from destiny 1. Then double down on content, planets and racial abilities. Also perhaps a storyline... k so probably not is my answer....

  • Big question there. I'm in this franchise for sure until my DLC subscription runs out. HoW drops sometime between April to June. Will Comet be included as a DLC? I doubt it, but wouldn't that be a nice touch if they let it slide through, though? But after that, all bets are off. I've played this game a lot. Is it fun? It has been, but that's gradually wearing thin. I certainly won't be purchasing D2 until after the reviews are out. Hell, I've been waiting forever for ESO to get released, but I'm even skittish about a pre-order on that. Now, if D2 can come out with most everything that D was promised, I might be back in for another year. I just don't think this current iteration of Bungie has it within them to actually produce something that epic. Just look to the limited lack of story with the DLC we've been given thus far. A few voice overs from an obviously disturbed gal who was seriously wronged by some mutant hermit crab and his pals on the moon just doesn't cut it. And it causes me concern that if Bungie can't even pull off a little short story, how can they give us something larger?

  • At this point: no. I've seen video's where it was able to create your own armor. What we have now is the opposite of that. Everything is fixed or so random it makes no sense. Al the armor pieces from the factions look the same but have different names. :S Not to mention the absence of matchmaking for weekly's and raids. Boring grinding. Low rewards for crucible. Little diversity in PvP (no capture the flag, king of the hill, etcetera). Weird choices like rank reset at iron banner. Queen's wrath gone within weeks.

  • Destiny was the biggest lie in gaming history why would i give a greedy fvcking company more money. There is allmost no pve content. TDB and HoW are cut content and should have been live on day 1. So .......

  • No. They haven't actually fixed any major problems, and the game is lacking in content. The fact that the game has been out for 6 months and there have only been few Iron Banners(even though I don't participate) and ONE Queen's Wrath, baffles me. To think this game has so little, and weekly events like that rarely ever occur just boggles my mind. I thought they said they had teams working constantly to improve and update and add to the game. What happened to that? Will not be buying Destiny 2. It's highly unlikely they'll make any major changes to the game that will bring it into the realm of worthy.

    • Not a chance. Buggy rubbish that they do not bother to fix. Import character to play more of the same, no thank you. We paid them plenty, and they delivered a broken game. Deciding factor is their lack of support. They refuse to fix the bugs, but fix exploits and take heavy synth away. Do a better job at releasing a tested product and avoid some of these ridiculous exploits and make it a high priority to fix your damn bugs! What the hell Bungie, get it together. So no,

    • I won't preorder like I did this time, but I might order if the reviews state that Destiny 2 has an actual storyline, isn't so repetitive and isn't so grindy. Otherwise, I'm avoiding this series in the future.

    • Despite the lack of content and the same few problems everyone seems to bitch about, people can't dump their time into this game fast enough. Bungie may have some kinks to work out, but this game is still their crowning jewel, and it's a big -blam!-in jewel. ,most people will continue to play this game long after Destiny 2. Look at how many people still play CoD, after they cookie cutter the same game every year, with less and less content, people buy it yearly. Most games don't get 1000 hour plus players in their first 6 months, and Destiny has them in spades.

      • I have a pretty solid gamer group I run with and we're all tired of the game for now. Honestly, the most fun I have with the game is running it with my friends through strikes and raids...if they can beef up the content, get weapons straight, give us some story, and make some quality of life issue adjustments (bugs, server issue fixes, vault space, etc...) between HoW and their "comet" content, then I'm in. If not? I'll play something else.

      • I bought the digital guardian edition. $90 spent, only $75 of that content received. For my money I've gotten several hundred hours of playtime. Playtime I don't regret spending, because for the same money elsewhere I would have grown bored a long time ago. Anyone who demands more content from the game should remember that it's less MMO and more co-op shooter. If you wanted more MMO you would have had to pay more for the game in the form of monthly subs/micro transactions. I enjoy the game, and yes, I'm sure I'll eventually get bored of it. But when I do, I'll look back at my $90 spent and think that I could have spent a whole lot more and gotten a whole lot less.

      • Yes because it's Bungie and its destiny, I for one like this game despite its stupid bugs, too many people complain when they've hardly played the game, but bottom line, it's like cod, everyone is going to buy the next one, you'll say you won't, but you'll be lined up just like the rest of us when it comes out
btw, my post isn't targeting anyone in specific, just my generalization of the community on the forums
• Eh, if they make the game last longer than 6 hours of content and fix many of the glaring issues that the first one has, then I'd consider it.

          • Me my self personally was rather disappointed the way this game turn out, I have played A LOT of destiny and finally feel burned out. I can only see myself buying destiny 2 if it's storyline is as good halo's per say...or maybe a real open world rpg sorta experience'.
