A marriage forged through Bungie.

Dear Bungie, Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Destiny is an amazing game don’t get me wrong, but that is only icing on the cake for the impact you made in my life. I’ll admit to coming into the Bungie seen late and in full force due to Halo 3 and ODST. As Reach came out I was faced with a dilemma. The girl I had just started dating flat out said she does LOVE videos games, but she HATES FPS… I knew it wasn’t going to work. I wasn’t giving up Reach so I hatched a plan. I sat on YouTube for a few hours scouring how to get your girlfriend to play videos games with you videos. Although she hated FPS games she was willing to play to get to spend time with me. I threw every 2nd or 3rd match and she ended up going out and buying Halo 3 since the servers were still up for practice. As time went on I wasn’t throwing matches and she was dominating swat matches (which she thinks would be amazing in Destiny by the way). We had a bond over video games, but it truly started over Halo. We participated in the F.L.A.G. event and got our butts handed to us. Hearing Bungie employee’s calling out the actual locations of places on the map was amazing to hear, and in hearing that, we knew we were pretty much screwed. But fast forward to now. That girl stuck it out and we now play Destiny together. It has been a crazy ride, but I can only again say thank you for giving myself and the woman that would become my wife a grounds on which to learn about one another on and bond through. We have a small little clan (2 AM Gaming) for Destiny (PS3) that FINALLY beat the raid together as a clan. We haven’t touched basically any games at all since the release of Destiny and I believe we have only not played Destiny for one night since the release, which we took a week off of work for. So in closing this out, you guys rock. There was a lot of drama and back story on the both of us leading up to us meeting one another, but I want to focus on the good because that was where life changed for the better for the both of us. And the best thing that ever happened to me was playing a Bungie game with a girl.

Well, I have to admit that I'm glad I am open minded to trying new things. :) I bonded with my best friend and I get the privilege of spending the rest of my life with the man of my dreams and honestly it wouldn't have happened so easily if it hadn't of been for Halo Reach. I'm fully addicted to Bungie's FPS and the moment I saw the first inkling of anything Destiny related, I turned to my husband and said, "I want that game!" He pre-ordered it for me the moment pre-orders were available. We absolutely LOVE it. Yes we have issues with the way some things work, but that's to be expected and that's why patches exist. Keep up the good work, Bungie! And yes, I would LOVE to have something similar to SWAT in the Crucible because it's so fast paced and I love the element of surprise by not having a radar (motion tracker.)
