Doesn't it make sense? Everyone used to complain that they had nothing to work towards. Now with the new level cap, everyone just wants the most powerful gear handed to them. What the -blam!- is wrong with you? It's not like they're sending your character back to level 1. Hell, they're not even forcing you to upgrade your exotics. Simply giving you the option.

It's not about wanting the best gear handed to us... I have worked my ass off to obtain all but two of the exotics in the game, and have leveled all but two of those to the max... Now they are worthless... Not only that, but my maxed weapons are worth the exact same as someone who has put not time, effort, and materials into when they are traded in. In essence, that means that I will be paying more for my exchange than someone who hadn't taken the time to max theirs out. I will be fine with the new system if they fix it so that only maxed weapons can be upgraded to the higher level. At least then everyone will pay the same price for getting the higher level exotics.

No it doesn't make sense. Instead of adding new content to give us more to do they took the lazy approach and made our weapons obsolete so we'd have to do the same exact thing over again. That is not progression. Then once we'd get our exotic maxed up again you can bet they'll make us wipe it all over again for the next dlc, while adding minimal content.
-
They did this so that our weapons would not become obsolete. You really don't understand how this is going to work. Wouldn't you rather be able to upgrade your current gear to be on par with the new gear than have it actually become obsolete, thus forcing you to use the new gear exclusively in order to make progress?
-
Current legendary weapons will be replaced in the tower by, basically, legendaries Ver 2,0. My Unfriendly Giant, Swarm, Shadow Price - all will be obsolete with no way to keep them relevant. And any new gear I will need will not only require marks, but also commendations, of which we will receive 1 for every vanguard rank. Weekly Heroic strikes will be increased to lvl 30. Only 30's will be able to access the next Raid immediately - who knows when everyone else can enter. So, in order to get anywhere in the next DLC, you have the same old tired shit with just more layers. Yeah, bud - that sounds like fun, huh?

Edited by Bam_Domino: 12/4/2014 7:03:25 PMNo they made our weapons obsolete. All they had to do was buff them like they've done many times before. You acting like they don't have the power to change the weapons. They did it because they won't be releasing the dlc exotics until January and they know they content in the dlc is slim to none. So what can they give people to do instead of actually adding content? They make out guns weak and make is go through that entire process over again while having to pay 7000 glimmer and exotic shard that cost 7 strange coins or an exotic dismantle for each wipe, plus another exotic shard to finish the upgrade at the end
-
They're making the guns stronger you dolt. The damage will stay the same, it's only the perks that are being reset. If anything, this keeps the weapons relevant. Secondly, it's only the primary exotics that we have to wait til January for. Do some research before you ride the whambulance.
-
Wait a minute, no new exotics until January????? Then WTF did I pay for?
-
LEGENDARY WEAPONS WILL NOT BE RESET YOU -blam!-ING IDIOT - Just EXOTICS. Do you have a problem with reading comprehension, bro?
-
Just a problem reading the immature spatter coming from your brain.
-
Your an idiot. You have to completely upgrade your weapon over you dumb fvck. They could easily avoid that by simply buffing the weapon and armor to the what they'd be by resetting them. How is that hard to understand? Are you mentally challenged? If so I apologize for calling you a dumb fvck. What sense does it make for me to do the same exact process I just freaking did. That's not fun, that's a nuisance. That's their way of adding playability instead adding efficient content. Complete garbage by bungie
-
Or they could just add additional upgrade bubbles... This is screwing people who took the time to max out all of their weapons... If maxing all of them out will simply be rendered pointless in 2 or 3 months, I'll have a lot more time to play other games... I definitely won't take the time to try to max out 3 elementals for each class... What's the point. It's just wasted time once the new upgrade comes out... I'll just max out the two or three that I use, and let the rest collect dust...
-
You don't have to if you don't want the new damage max. But the fact is, your exotic weapons will not lose any damage if you choose to upgrade, only perks. Cool your jets man, it's not that big a deal.
-
Dude the perks is a big deal. Sometimes they completely change weapon. For instance my MIDA Multi-tool, once it got hair trigger, the last perk, it turned into a completely different gun. Now, if someone gets it in next week's nightfall and upgrades it when Xur shows up, they will be on par with me as far as that gun is concerned even though it was my first Exotic and I have had it maxed out for months. It's lunacy. If I pay Xur for more damage that's what he should give me, more damage, not fewer perks.
-
I agree, you should be able to upgrade your damage. Then keep whatever perks you have or don't. That way time people have spent getting the perks isn't lost. It would be a lot more fair than what they're doing.
